Rick Perry stated that Iran will move into Iraq at the speed of light now that the US military has left (well at least officially). Although I disagree with his suggestion to send troops back into Iraq, he appears to understand the Iranian threat in Iraq better than Obama.
The following report comes from Iran Daily.

High-ranking Iranian and Iraqi officials in a meeting in Baghdad on Tuesday underlined the need for the further development of political and economic relations between the two countries. The issue was discussed in a meeting between Iraqi President Jalal Talibani and Iranian Ambassador in Baghdad Hassan Danaeifar late Tuesday.
During the meeting, the Iranian diplomat underscored Tehran’s readiness for bolstering all-out ties with the Iraqi nation.
He also stressed Iran’s all-out support for the political process in Iraq. Iran and Iraq have enjoyed growing ties ever since the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, in 2003.
The two sides are working on a series of plans to take wide strides in expanding their bilateral ties. Early in July, Iran and Iraq agreed to boost the value of their trade exchanges to $20 billion in the near future.
