Mostly peaceful illegal immigrants. Right?
We can guess who it is doing this. And they’re just getting started.
Burn baby burn!!!!
Not new. Dealt with looters when I worked as a Deputy Sheriff and assisted with a huge brush fire in San Clemente in 1975. I was born and raised in LA. Dad was a LA City Firefighter. He saw the elephant, fighting these monsters and then almost got shot off of his rig by Negroes during the Watts Fiesta in 1965.
Over the years, CA has been taken over by the Marxist-Infanticide Party at all levels of government, along with their Eco-freak, Woke, SJW, sexual deviant remoras. You have a desert climate, a feudal society, and a totally corrupt, syphilitic-thinking political system. “Let it fall down, let it fall down, let it all fall down.” -- H/T to James Taylor.
Early Christmas 2025 shopping for the usual types.
Because, those wide screen TVs and Nike kicks aren’t going to steal themselves.
As others have conveyed, I find it difficult to be empathetic to a bunch of people who have brought this scenario about by trying to force reality to conform to their collective delusions. They do zero forestry management because of militant environmentalists, have a regulatory environment for public utilities that makes proper maintenance and upgrading of infrastructure damn near impossible, and the big utilities themselves are typical modern American companies rife with incompetence via forced diversity, corruption, bean counting managers and executives solely concerned about maximizing their own compensation, with the obvious end result being.that their service sucks.
And the people have insisted on building in places that may be breathtakingly scenic, but are in the middle of a desert region where water has to be brought in, and is also subject to some of the worst weather conditions imaginable in allowing for massive wild fires to form and spread. And then they elect the stupidest, most delusional leadership (the mayor of LA and governor hair gel) and appoint an unqualified middle aged lesbian fire chief. Luck for the mayor, she’s in Ghana for the installation of their president, so she is {for the moment) safe from the heat of both the fire, and the rising anger of her constituents.
Sure, that all sounds like a formula for success. This fire was entirely predictable (because it has happened before, repeatedly at that) so I take some issue with calling it a disaster. Disaster -- at least in part -- implies an event that may have been unforeseen -- and this certainly wasn’t -- or at least infrequent enough not to be a routine event. It was largely self inflicted by a bunch of arrogant morons who thought they had bested mother nature, and erroneously believed they had mastered control of their land.
And I’d say the same for the coastal southeast where beach mansions get built-in known hurricane destruction zones. The blame for such losses can be placed squarely on those who chose to build there, in contravention of basic common sense, especially when the same mistake is made repeatedly in the same area. Same for all the development of floodplain in the Midwest, where I live. Point being that human hubris has been the cause of much pain, suffering a destruction. Maybe even most of it. We need to stop doing stupid things, but of course we won’t.
Great summation, BRD!
The MSM talks about the Santa Ana winds as if it were a one-off, unpredictable disaster. It’s a virtually annual event; bring your kites and a few miles of extra string ’cause those wind do their thing every year.
Point well-taken that communities cannot clear their land of certain dead plants & trees--regardless that they are the horrific fuel for the next fire; why, where would a dung beetle or coastal newt nest, if not in some dead tree stump? (Newts & dung beetles before actual humans, I always say)!
Americans--usually only the truly wealthy--continue to defy logic, history & common sense, building in fire zones, barrier beaches, cliffside, etc. then crying to the cameras about their “devastating losses.”
Well, write another check and don’t bother the rest of us while we go about our mundane lives, living frugally and intelligently.
Because, when everyday Americans lose a home to fire we don’t expect to get press coverage or a GoFundMe account to “make it all better.”
The Palisades is a long way from Compton.
There all F _ _ _ King criminal illegal alien , black and white trash garbage.
