“If the Spirit of God detects anything in you that is wrong, He doesn’t ask you to make it right; He only asks you to accept the light of truth, and then He will make it right. A child of the light will confess sin instantly and stand completely open before God. But a child of the darkness will say, “Oh, I can explain that.” When the light shines and the Spirit brings conviction of sin, be a child of the light. Confess your wrongdoing, and God will deal with it. If, however, you try to vindicate yourself, you prove yourself to be a child of the darkness.”
This is something that happens over and over. We are a constantly remade creature and sometimes, just when we think we have it figured out, something new is pointed out and we go into defensive mode. I know I do this…you probably do too.
Once we are convicted, we simply accept that we have been wrong and confess it. We don’t have to punish ourselves, we simply let Him work. And He will work, to fix it and reshape that part of the clay we are formed from.
This mud man right here is dealing with a setback right now in which I was angry about and pushed back….against someone I love. While I’m still angry, I confess it, and ask for help in it being resolved and for my anger to dissipate.
We are not perfect, nor are we expected to be. If the Apostle Paul struggled, I can guarantee that we will too.
Romans 7:18-22
18For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
19For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing.
20Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
21So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me
Circumstances permitting we should confess our sins to each other also.
This is a way to walk as an example. Confessing our sins to the ones we harmed is and can have a cleansing effect. Forgiving those who have harmed us , can also yield a great return. Leaps of faith can be amazing.
Take it God first through His and as a son.
Wow, i just read the verses you posted with Paul’s questions of why i continue in sin. i had just looked these up after seeing your post and mention of Galatians 5:16
Also Last week was studying through James 4 on why we war with each other and lust, and are sometimes misled to pray amiss.
Have a good and revealing day,
If we say we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness we lie and are not doing the Truth.
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Yahusha Mashiak His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we say that we have not sinned, we are misleading ourselves, and the Truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
if we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
From First John 1
Thought : Daily forgiveness, do we still walk in this, and are we trying?
