NC Democrats vote out pledge and refuse to stand for flag

The Bladen County Board of Elections held a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 14, 2019 at the local office located at 301 S. Cypress Street in Elizabethtown. The meeting ended with threats of law enforcement being called to the next meeting.

Once the meeting was called to order and Commissioner Arthur Bullock gave the invocation Election Board member Emory White asked for the Pledge of Allegiance to be added to the agenda.

Chairperson Louella P. Thompson, Patsy Sheppard, and Deborah Belle voted against the Pledge of Allegiance being added to the agenda. Board members Michael Aycock and Emory White, both Veterans of the United States military voted for the pledge to be added to the agenda.

Director of the Bladen County Board of Elections gave dates for upcoming trainings and the board went into closed session citing personnel matters as the reason.

When the board reconvened Chairperson Thompson announced, “There are some personnel issues and there is a position we will be advertising for and we also discussed the disruption of the meeting.” She added, “At the next meeting if that happens again law enforcement will be called, so because it is against the law to disrupt a meeting that is going on and that is what happened today with the reciting of the pledge.”

I say throw these TRAITORS out of office. What a bunch of scumbags we live with. Maybe they’d be better off in Venezuela…or Cuba…
Sickening!
Ya know, I’m thinking we may not have enough rope after all…for kid’s swing sets, of course…

You mean the flag that has yet to appear at a single democrat debate? The country I grew up in and fought for is gone. I fear for my child’s future.

I’m going to make a comment that might not be popular. First off you need to stop getting outraged just because “they” as in those Dumbocrats are doing it and think about what you’re getting mad about.

One, you do realize that the pledge was written by communists and is a statement attesting servitude to the State.

Two, even as a symbol the Republic that your heart swells for does NOT exist. Whether it did at one point is debatable but it sure doesn’t exist today. Consider what values this former country exerts overseas: imperialism and warmongering for profit to the bourgeois class paid for with the lives and blood of the people.

Three, how many times has it been asked, what, if anything, of our current bloated and corrupt system is worth conserving? Anytime I’ve seen that question asked the answer is nothing.

So, what the hell are getting upset over?

Why not just go back to Mother Jones, Matt? Obviously you have no concept of what America actually stands for. The deep state, on both sides, is not America.

mousieish LOL. Go back to Mother Jones. Please. Oh, how you don’t know me. Not at all.

Here’s a hint for you. My reasons for objecting to pledging allegiance to or swooning over that symbol are far different than those of the communists, but please feel free to go worship it if you choose.

Firstly, Matt is correct about the pledge being a ploy to sell. Look it up… Secondly, as long as the word ‘indivisible’ is a part of the pledge, I’ll never bray it as a good minion of the federal corporation, which is NOT the same entity as our beloved country was in the git-go. [See the ORIGINAL 13th amendment.] The ‘several states’ originally had a contractual relationship that was a two way street back in the day with the federal government. That mutually beneficial relationship has long bolted from the corral, and now the feds are our master and scorn the participating ‘several states’. We should be able to again divide [‘indivisible’] from those who seek to rule ham-handedly over us. The south had it right as do the various states/counties presently contemplating secession from their present day overlords.
Is that put in simple enough terms for you Mousie? soapweed
