NC Listen – stop the Republican call for an amnesty for illegals

Concerned Citizens and Immigration Reformers,

Some in the Republican Party are calling for agreeing with President Obama for a large scale amnesty for illegal immigrants.  Four years ago John McCain ran for President and all but offered an amnesty for illegal immigrants in an attempt to curry favor with Hispanics/Latinos.   He got approximately 35% of the Hispanic vote.  The sad fact is that a large number of Hispanics/Latinos in the USA are in poverty.  They voted for Obama for the same reason other low-income voters voted for Obama, more and continuous government services.   On three different polls this year, Hispanics ranked immigration from sixth in importance to eleventh.

If Republicans were to offer to work with Obama and allow a large scale amnesty and thus citizenship, it will have no effect on current legal Hispanic voters but only create an additional voting bloc of even poorer illegal immigrants (now amnestied citizens) who will vote more for the Democrats than ever before.  And does anyone believe Republicans can out-promise the Democrats on giving away government social services?

I will be providing an in-depth article on why Romney lost.   But for now, I urge you to call your member of Congress and our two Senators and urge them to vote against any amnesty provision.   Afterall, we have over 22 million in America who are either unemployed or cannot find a full-time job and somehow giving citizenship and subsequently legal work status to 12 million illegal immigrants is going to help reduce our USA unemployment rate?
