The North Carolina Republican Party’s first black state chairman was removed from his post Saturday, the culmination of months of conflict with other party leaders who recently censured him for exceeding his authority.
Members of the party’s executive committee found Hasan Harnett responsible for violating organizational rules and committing acts of “gross inefficiency.” Roughly 280 committee members attended the private, trial-like meeting in Raleigh that lasted several hours, participants said. Later on Saturday, more than the two-thirds of members required to throw out Mr. Harnett voted to do so.
Mr. Harnett was out of the country Saturday on a previously announced business trip, according to ally Daniel Rufty, chairman of the party’s 12th Congressional District.

I am so glad to be out of Raleigh.

Funny how we constantly told to ignore race yet every time something like this happens the race card is played.
Having some knowledge of events it is my earnest opinion he was likely elected because of his skin color, in spite of real problems with ability he was left in the job because of his skin color, and now that he was rightfully removed we are yet again back to his skin color.
While I am no fan of MLK, it is telling how those who are never follow his words to judge people by the “content of their character” rather than the color of their skin.
