Obama Will Never Provide A “Real Solution”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell  made the following statement into the record on the floor of the US Senate today:

“But after years of discussions and months of negotiations, I have little question that as long as this president is in the Oval Office, a real solution is unattainable.”

Is Mr. McConnell suggesting that Mr. Obama be removed from office before his term is up? Or is he foreshadowing that the Republican Party will not negotiate with him for the next 19 months (assuming he is note re-elected)?

While both the president and Republican Party leadership try to compromise on the fate of the debt ceiling, the American people are the ones who will suffer. The president has just announced that Social Security checks may not be sent out on August 3rd if the debt ceiling is not increased. It seems like just yesterday (April) where the president threatened the military paychecks if the debt ceiling was not raised.

The American people have to stand up and “eat our peas”: do not raise the debt ceiling or taxes. The solution is simple: cut spending and live within a budget. Of course that would be easier if we had a budget.
