He was wrong for running the red light. But being untrained about waist holsters is incompetent of the department and the officer herself. And I maybe wrong in this regard. I understand the tension. A officer must have to go through when they pull over someone then they have a gun on them. But he would was being cooperative, and now he will get millions for their incompetent doings. Can’t wait to see the body cam. Hope you repost with it when and if it is release.
On the flipside, I bet he never runs another red light…..js

Safest place for the orc, excuse me “officer” regarding his gun is on his body in a holster. The idea od confiscating for safety is BS. If he were going to shoot her, it wouldn’t be safely stowed. Idiot bimbutt with a superiority complex. Hope she gets fired and winds up destitute.

Female cops seem to get rattled more than their male counterparts during stressful situations.
Recall Kim Potter, former Minnesota police officer who mistakenly drew a gun instead of a Taser and fatally shot Daunte Wright during a traffic stop!

How poorly trained, or unable to handle stress, to shoot a guy at a traffic stop because you are so stressed that you draw your department-issued handgun (typically a fat, squared-off 9mm Glock) instead of your plastic Taser! A typical Glock weighs about 3-4 pounds, a Taser, 14-16 ounces.
Even in the dark, while both weapons are “gun-like” (in that they have a grip end and a muzzle) the Taser is light as a feather, feels like a kid’s plastic toy, while the Glock is a dense hunk of metal.

IMO, only the poorly-trained or the inept/unqualified could confuse the two.

This typically cause women are more emotional than men under these conditions. personally if I get stopped, I do not want my firearm on me even if it is registered to me. I would rather the weapon be anywhere but on me, and some location where it can be seen by the officer. Most states if you legally own a firearm it comes up on there computer when they run your plates. Either way this is stupid, what did she do to cause the weapon to fire in the holster, was she fondling the weapon. She should have just let him loosing the belt and take the whole thing firearm&holster. If she is that paranoid have him exit the vehicle and have him take the firearm out of the holster and place it on the vehicle and step away.
