Obama’s Requiem for Scalia

Organizing for Action

Friend —

This weekend we learned of the passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. While we didn’t always agree with his rulings, we recognize the passion he held for the law, and his dedication to the institution of the Court.

But now the Supreme Court only has eight members, even as it is about to consider some of the most important issues facing our country — from climate change and immigration reform, to women’s and workers’ rights.

Shockingly, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s first reaction to this news was to say that the Senate should refuse to do its constitutional duty, and block President Obama from filling the vacancy.

Friend, the Senate has a responsibility to fairly consider the President’s nomination for the court, and we need to make sure they get the message.

OFA is putting together a petition to send a clear message to the lawmakers obstructing this process. Make sure your voice is heard — sign this petition now.

Let’s be clear about what the Constitution says about this: When there’s a vacancy on the Supreme Court, the President is required to nominate someone to fill it, and the Senate must give that nominee fair consideration.

Anyone who says otherwise is putting politics first. The longest time a Supreme Court nominee has ever had to wait to get a vote was 125 days, and President Obama has more than 300 days remaining in his term.

The Supreme Court is too important to be held hostage by partisan gridlock.

Stand up for a fair nomination process — add your name to OFA’s petition:

Thanks — more to come soon,

Pope’s publicity stunt at Texas border timed to influence US election

pope lampedusa

Make no mistake, Pope Francis is interjecting himself into the 2016 Presidential election by walking with illegal aliens on the Mexican side of the border who want to get into the US.

This is a direct assault by the Catholic Church on Donald Trump and any other Republicans (including the Governor of Texas) who say they want to close the US border with Mexico.

From the Dallas Morning News about his walk with migrants he calls refugees.

They are not refugees! People escaping poverty or crime are not legally refugees, but the Pope and the NO Borders Left are purposefully confusing the terminology.  They want all migrants-on-the-move to be called REFUGEES who are then entitled to protection and welfare.

Obama Not Concerned About Strike on Iran; Okays Sale of Super Refueling Jets to Israel

In a stunning turn of events, it appears that the Obama administration has finally eased restrictions on the supply and sale to Israel of the military aerial refueling and strategic transport aircraft, KC-46.

The Defense News website has reported that the KC-46 is a militarized version of Boeing’s 767 commercial jet, and its refueling rate is approximately 4,500 liters per minute. The US military is reportedly planning on purchasing 179 such planes.

Thus far, the White House has harbored serious concerns that sale of certain aircraft to Israel would be used for a possible strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.  The Walla news service has quoted unnamed military sources in Israel who have explained that the sale of the planes to Israel could not have been approved before the United States signed the agreement with Iran. They add Israel is expected to sign an official deal with America for the Pegasus by year’s end and the first planes would be arriving in Israel in 2019.

Currently, Israel has expressed its interest in acquiring two KC-46 planes as they begin the process of phasing out the IAF’s antiquated fleet of refueling planes that carry very high maintenance costs due to their age.

Although the cost of each KC-46 is around $188 million, Israel will have to pay around $250 million for each tanker after having it modified with Israeli equipment.

OBAMA-POINDEXTER PICS FUEL SCALIA SUSPICIONS

John Poindexter and President Obama shake hands at the White House (Credit: Via DC Whispers)

A couple of photographs of President Obama shaking hands with a wealthy Democrat Party donor named John Poindexter, who also owns the ranch resort where he found Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia dead, has fueled the whispers that radio host Michael Savage just gave wings to with the blunt broadcast question: “Was [he] murdered?”

As WND reported, Savage posed that question to listeners on his recent show, at the same time insisting “we need a Warren Commission-like federal investigation” and calling Scalia’s sudden death “serious business.”

Now the blog DC Whispers has stoked those flames with a post that includes a couple of photographs of Obama and Poindexter, who owns the Cibolo Creek Ranch where Scalia was staying at the time of his death, in a friendly handshake.

The blog says Poindexter, a Texas millionaire businessman, also received an award from Obama for his Vietnam military service.

Southern Poverty Law Center – Manufacturing Hate for Fun and Profit

The Southern Poverty Law Center, always seeming to hover in the shadows whenever honest citizens and organizations try to stand up for this country, is at it again. In addition to the usual suspects – which includes pretty much anyone who disagrees with the American radical Left – SPLC has been increasingly attacking people and groups who express concern about Islamic terrorism –adding them to SPLC’s infamous “Hate Watch” list.

This now includes the Washington, DC think tank, Center for Security Policy. Widely respected in defense circles, the Center has been warning us for years about the subversive tactics being employed by the Muslim Brotherhood and its proxies to destroy our nation from within. Its veteran analysts from the defense and intelligence community seek to warn the country of the existential threat we now face from Muslim terrorists.

T.L. Davis: Kill One; Terrify Thousands

christian mercenary

Liars generally know that they will be found out at some point. But, in the mean time, they get a thrill out of confusing and confounding those who try to hold them accountable, because all they need are a few more lies to cloud the issue until they wear their accusers out. Most people walk away from a confrontation with a lair with nothing more than that knowledge. He/she is a liar. They get no satisfaction from it, though, as the liar is hardly ever punished, because they leverage their “benefit of the doubt” to the furthest extreme.

For those of us who try desperately to maintain the truth at all times and at all costs, integrity is important. We recognize that if we lie in one instance and it is found out (as it likely always will be) we will not have the faith of others to sustain us when we have no proof. So, we dare not lie.

Which of the two philosophies above best describe that of the U.S. Government?

Black Lives Matter Protester Warns of Coming ‘Race War’

A very small number of demonstrators took to the streets in front of NFL offices in New York City on Tuesday to protest Beyonce’s performance at Super Bowl 50 of her racially charged anthem “Formation,” which they deemed offensive. (Video: Josiah Ryan )

In response a number of Black Lives Matters protesters appeared to throw a counter-protest.

Among them was Kalief Metellus, who told TheBlaze, he believed a “race war” may be on the horizon.

14 Words to Teach Your Children… If You’re Honest

TeachYourChildren

Imagine a pretty spring day, you’re standing on your front porch or some other pleasant vantage point and looking out at a sunlit landscape: trees, grass, and singing birds. Then your five-year-old child or grandchild walks up to you and tugs on your hand to get your attention. You turn and the child asks, “What kind of world is this?”

What do you reply?

This innocent child deserves the truth. You won’t be able to use fancy words or long explanations, but truth doesn’t require those things. This child is ready to hear the truth about the world – he or she is primed for it. This is the kind of moment that comes along haphazardly, and you can’t be sure if or when another might show itself. Your answer may affect this child for the rest of his or her life. What do you say?

The 14 Words

First I’m going to tell you the 14 words, then I’ll explain further. But as you stand on the porch, away from everything but nature and your child, the only intimidations, biases, and slogans present will be those inside of you… and your child should be insulated from such things. You have to speak truth. And as I say, it doesn’t have to be long and complex; in fact it can’t be, if you want to help a five year old.

Here are the 14 words:

We are a beautiful species, living in a beautiful world, ruled by abusive systems.

Later – after true words have sunk into the young mind – you can explain that we’re not a perfectly beautiful species, that most people are often confused and that a few are just plain bad. You can further explain that volcanoes and hurricanes and grizzly bears exist. But if you value your child enough to tell them the plain truth, you’ll tell him or her the 14 words first and let them sink in before getting to the small print.

Now, with that said, I’ll move to some explanation for the adults.

A Beautiful Species

11,000 or 12,000 years ago, humanity – perhaps five million of them – stumbled out from an ice age and began to spread across the earth, most of them having nothing in the way of science and technology. Since then, we’ve learned to fill the earth with food, build machines that race across the face of the earth, sail oceans and streams, and fly through the atmosphere at fantastic speeds. Imagine trying to explain these things to the people coming down from their receding glaciers.

Life, or Death?

by Robert Gore

On July 16, 1945, a plutonium implosion atomic bomb was detonated in the desert north of Alamogordo, New Mexico. Within a month, a uranium-based and a plutonium-based atomic bomb were detonated above Hiroshima and Nagasaki, respectively. Atomic fission, and later fusion, became the basis for the most deadly arsenal ever assembled, giving the US government the power to destroy the world several times over, making it history’s most powerful institution. The Soviet Union’s development of its own potentially earth-destroying nuclear arsenal in the 1950s challenged US power. Per Lord Acton’s famous dictum, absolute power produced absolute corruption on both sides of the Cold War.

Their leaders saw the world in terms of an amoral chess match. Other nations’ governments were pawns in their strategies for global domination and individual lives were of no consequence. Intelligence agencies rose to preeminence, employing sabotage, deception, propaganda, political manipulation, revolution, regime change, and assassination in foreign countries, supposedly excused by the imperatives of fighting the other side’s nefarious designs. Although there was a fair amount of playing one side against the other, brutally repressive autocrats willing to ostensibly align with either side received diplomatic, financial, intelligence, and military support from their benefactors.

WTI Crude Plunges Back Below $30 – Gives Up All “Production Cut” Hype Gains

As traders slowly (and then quickly) woke up to the fact that a “freeze” at record levels of production is not a “cut”, WTI Crude has collapsed over 5% from its hope-stricken illiquid highs of early trading – now back below $30.
