The Raping of America: Mile Markers on the Road to Fascism

Image result for road to serfdomThere’s an ill will blowing across the country. The economy is tanking. The people are directionless, and politics provides no answer. And like former regimes, the militarized police have stepped up to provide a façade of law and order manifested by an overt violence against the citizenry.

Despite the revelations of the past several years, nothing has changed to push back against the American police state. Our freedoms—especially the Fourth Amendment—continue to be choked out by a prevailing view among government bureaucrats that they have the right to search, seize, strip, scan, spy on, probe, pat down, taser, and arrest any individual at any time and for the slightest provocation.

Despite the recent outrage and protests, nothing has changed to restore us to our rightful role as having dominion over our bodies, our lives and our property, especially when it comes to interactions with the government.

Forced cavity searches, forced colonoscopies, forced blood draws, forced breath-alcohol tests, forced DNA extractions, forced eye scans, forced inclusion in biometric databases—these are just a few ways in which Americans continue to be reminded that we have no control over what happens to our bodies during an encounter with government officials. Thus far, the courts have done little to preserve our Fourth Amendment rights, let alone what shreds of bodily integrity remain to us.

Indeed, on a daily basis, Americans are being forced to relinquish the most intimate details of who we are—our biological makeup, our genetic blueprints, and our biometrics (facial characteristics and structure, fingerprints, iris scans, etc.)—in order to clear the nearly insurmountable hurdle that increasingly defines life in the United States.

In other words, we are all guilty until proven innocent.

BLACK MONDAY: The First Time EVER The Dow Has Dropped By More Than 500 Points On Two Consecutive Days

New York City Empire State Building - Public Domain

On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted 588 points. It was the 8th worst single day stock market crash in U.S. history, and it was the first time that the Dow has ever fallen by more than 500 points on two consecutive days. But the amazing thing is that the Dow actually performed better than almost every other major global stock market on Monday.  In the U.S., the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq both did worse than the Dow. In Europe, almost every major index performed significantly worse than the Dow.  Over in Asia, Japanese stocks were down 895 points, and Chinese stocks experienced the biggest decline of all (a whopping 8.46 percent). On June 25th, I was not kidding around when I issued a “red alert” for the last six months of 2015. I had never issued a formal alert for any other period of time, and I specifically stated that “a major financial collapse is imminent“. But you know what? As the weeks and months roll along, things will eventually be even worse than what any of the experts (including myself) have been projecting. The global financial system is now unraveling, and you better pack a lunch because this is going to be one very long horror show.

Our world has not seen a day quite like Monday in a very, very long time. Let’s start our discussion where the carnage began…

Ann Barnhardt: How much lead warning would have been “right”?

I recorded and released my Economics Presentation, titled, “The Economy Is Going to Implode… And You Deserve to Understand Why” thirty-three months ago.

Thirty-three months.

I have given countless interviews repeating the cry, “Get out, get out, get out.”

My conscience is clear on this point, both with regards to content and timing, which I view in retrospect as having been just about optimal. It was enough time for all those willing to engage the dataset to do their own thoughtful due diligence, plan, and execute their asset reallocation in an orderly way.

And remember, this is all about simple arithmetic.  Not psychology, not feelings.  It’s math.  To not see this coming is to deny, or to cast as unimportant the foundations of the physical universe. Exponential functions are parabolic. Two exponential functions will always diverge, and the larger will always consume the smaller.  If debt increases 7% per year, and GDP increases 5% per year, the debt will, as a metaphysical certitude, utterly consume the whole as the steeper parabola zooms away from the shallower parabola.

Trading was halted 1,200 times Monday

The selling on Wall Street was so dramatic Monday that it triggered unprecedented emergency freezes on stocks.

Stocks and exchange-traded funds were automatically halted more than 1,200 times, according to Nasdaq.

The high level of trading pauses highlights just how extreme the selloff was in a short span of time. Fears about China’s economic slowdown caused the Dow to plummet over 1,000 points when the market opened. The Dow ended down 588 points, its worst decline since August 2011.

Installed after the May 2010 flash crash, the so-called circuit breakers are designed to slow down dramatic selling or buying. They are typically triggered when stocks dive or spike by a certain amount in a matter of minutes. Think of it as a time out. Trading is halted for five minutes, giving investors a chance to calm down and allowing cooler heads to step into the market.

Markets Bloody – Here’s Your Community Security Checklist

Guerrillamerica

As if you weren’t already aware, Asian markets are bleeding all over the place today (0100 hrs Eastern).  The European markets open at 0300 hrs Eastern, which I’m not staying up for, but the safe bet is on seeing Western markets open down, too.

I’m not ready to quote Fred Sanford in saying, “This is the big one, Elizabeth!”, however, this is just another data point in a string of data points, in the beginning of a larger set of data points all eventually pointing down.

So if you’re just getting started in the intelligence game, check out an article from last year:  The Community Security Checklist

We’re going to have massive shortfalls in time and resources, and those are only getting worse during an SHTF event.

YOU MUST FOCUS ON BUILDING A CAPABILITY TO PRODUCE EARLY WARNING AND THREAT INTELLIGENCE.

Identify your most likely local threats and learn everything you can about them.  Spending an hour a day for the entire week searching out information on the web is going to increase your ability to survive, because you will better know what to expect.

After reading the post linked above, focus on these two steps:

Summarizing The “Black Monday” Carnage So Far

We warned on Friday, after last week’s China rout, that the market is getting ahead of itself with its expectation of a RRR-cut by China as large as 100 bps. “The risk is that there isn’t one.” We were spot on, because not only was there no RRR cut, but Chinese stocks plunged, with the composite tumbling as much a 9% at one point, the most since 1996 when it dropped 9.4% in a single session. The session, as profile overnight was brutal, with about 2000 stocks trading by the -10% limit down, and other markets not doing any better: CSI 300 -8.8%, ChiNext -8.1%, Shenzhen Composite -7.7%. This was the biggest Chinese rout since 2007.

The worst news is that the 3,500 level in the SHCOMP which until recently had been seen as a “hard barrier” for the PBOC, has now been breached, and not only is the Shanghai Composite red for the year after being up 60% a little over 2 months earlier (don’t worry though: just like on Yahoo Finance Twitter everyone took profits at the highs), but nobody knows why the Politburo let stocks tumble and worst of all, how much further will it allow stocks to drop.

Elsewhere in Asia, equity markets traded with significant losses on what is being referred to as ‘black Monday’ amid increased growth concerns coupled with commodities falling to fresh 6 year lows and US stocks in correction, sparked a further sell-off in the region . The ASX 200 (-4.1%) declined by the most in 4 years, Nikkei 225 (-4.6%) and Hang Seng (-5.2%) also saw considerable losses with energy dragging the index lower. 10yr JGBs saw relatively muted trade and are up by 3 ticks.

Futures Bloodbath = Major Red Flag for Investors

The entire “Stock Market Gains” of the last 12 months have been wiped out over the weekend, while you were mowing your lawn and enjoying a last bit of summer recreation.

Take a look at the following charts [captured at roughly Midnight Sunday night]. They clearly show that “futures” for all three of the major US indices are plunging. And already, two of these three (DOW and S&P) have lost all gains for the year, just in last week’s trading, with the Nasdaq showing downward momentum to do the same within the coming week.

So between real losses in the market last week, and “futures” losses just this weekend, two entire years of “market gains” have been destroyed. If you ever wondered what it would take to trigger QE-4, I believe we have found the answer.

DOW-30_Futures-1-year Nasdaq-Futures-1-year SNP500-Futures-1-year

Couple these losses in the domestic market with the precipitous fall in Chinese and Japanese markets over the past 2 weeks, and add in the nearly apocolyptic losses across the remainder of the ‘Emerging markets’ over the same time frame, and it’s very difficult to deny that something big is happening.

The reality is that if these global trends play out according to the current market momentum, then several $Trillions of investement capital will have been destroyed in the month of August, alone.

Also of strategic risk to the US economy is the fact that since the first of this year,  China and several other countries have made a major shift in policy, from being net-buyers of US Treasury Bonds to being net-sellers of US bonds.  In a real market, this would cause the interest rate on such bonds to go up, as we have witnessed with Greek, Spanish, and Irish bonds in the last 5 years.  However, the FED has committed to keeping interest rates at 0% (a.k.a. ZIRP), and thus their only alternative is for the FED to buy nearly all of the US Bonds issued, and monetize them.  Monetizing simply means printing money to cover the purchase of the asset.  So the FED will print money in the same amount as the US Treasury bonds it must buy to hold the interest rates at ZIRP.

The implications of monetizing massive bond purchases, even as global trade stagnates and major countries become net-sellers of US Treasuries, is that there will be quite a lot more dollars in domestic circulation.

More dollars in domestic circulation *SHOULD* mean severe inflation would be the result.  But as it was in the lat 1970s under the Carter administration, there is an opposing effect caused by a lack of money and real credit in the comercial and consumer markets to pay wages and purchase commodities.  This is commonly called “Stag-flation” when there should be inflation, but there is not sufficient money in the hands of commercial entities to be spent.  In other words, there is too much money, but it is not moving through the economy.  This movement of money through the economy is often referred to as “velocity”.  Low velocity goes with low inflation, but it also goes with wage stagnation, and retards the growth of businesses and the economy overall.

But all that money *is* still out there, and less and less of it is tied up in foreign markets these days.  If, for whatever reason, the velocity of all that money should actually begin to increase, then inflation would necessarily skyrocket.

I’m not a fortune teller, and I won’t try to pin some exact date on when I expect the implosion to become obvious to everyone.  If you’re paying attention, they it is already obvious to you.

I sincerely hope you are stocked up and prepped for at least a year of outright insanity because, should things continue in their present direction, it will take at least a year for local economies to reconstitute themselves after the crunch happens, and international trade may well cease to exist for a protracted period of time, even if no global war erupts in the aftermath of the global economic implosion.

And should another World War erupt as the economies of the world implode then only God knows what, if anything, might remain afterwards.

Ours was supposed to be a nation that minded it’s own business.  But for the last hundred years, the Federal Government has continuously sacrificed that virtue in exchange for the vice of empire – Control and Domination.  Control of their “allies” and Domination of their “enemies”.  And all to benefit the International Corporations, which never ought to have existed in the first place.  Our nation has been bought by a colelction of entities without souls, and this is the result.
