Prosecutors: Not Enough Evidence Cops Who Shot Unarmed Man 16 Times As He Lay In Bed Acted With ‘Malice’

KING5 screencap

Four years ago cops from the King’s County Sheriff’s Office and the state Department of Corrections (DOC) in Washington busted into the home of Dustin Theoharis and shot the unarmed man 16 times as he lay in bed. Theoharis had at least a dozen surgeries but survived. He sued the county, settling for $3 million, and has also sued the DOC.

Both the county and the department have ruled the shootings justified, despite the lack of a firearm and the fact that the two cops shot a man 16 times as he lay in bed. Earlier this month a judge ruled Theoharis’ excessive force lawsuit against the DOC could move forward, citing the cops’ questionable testimony (they didn’t provide a statement for weeks after the shooting).

But that’s not enough for county prosecutors, who when they declined three years ago to charge the two officers, in part because they said the officers wouldn’t give them statements, said they would review the decision if new information came out. Via The Seattle Times:

NIRP Officially Arrives In The US As JPM Starts Charging Fees On Deposits

Image result for jpmorgan

Technically, NIRP arrived in the US back in December when as the WSJ reported at the time, America’s largest banks at that time urged “some of their largest customers in the U.S. to take their cash elsewhere or be slapped with fees, citing new regulations that make it onerous for them to hold certain deposits.” The banks included J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Citigroup Inc., HSBC Holdings PLC, Deutsche Bank AG and Bank of America. However, at the time, the NIRP threat was rather nebulous, with the banks telling clients, which range from large companies to hedge funds, insurers and smaller banks, that they will begin charging fees on accounts that have been free for big customersat some point eventually. Nothing was imminent.

That changed overnight, when as the WSJ once again reported, the nebulous became tangible after J.P. Morgan Chase, the largest US bank by assets (and second largest in the US by total derivative notional) is preparing to charge large institutional customers for some deposits. WSJ adds that JPM “is aiming to reduce the affected deposits by billions of dollars, with a focus on bringing the number down this year.

The details on this latest dramatic, and until central-planning arrived, unthinkable, monetary experiment:

GRNC Alert 02-24-15: Obama Exacting Revenge for Rifle Ownership

OBAMA/HOLDER STILL ANGLING FOR ‘BACKDOOR’ GUN CONTROL

Last week, GRNC informed you of the scheme by the Obama Administration to use the unelected bureaucrats at the BATFE as cover to ban common M855 rifle ammunition. The 2012-13 gun control push failed miserably in Congress, so Obama and Holder have simply changed tactics. This new scheme seeks to dodge the people’s representatives entirely, and unlawfully nullify your Second Amendment rights through the backdoor.  After all, banning ammo is the next best thing to banning guns, since one is useless without the other.

Hunters Watch Out!
Modern sporting rifles like the AR-15 are not the only firearms that may be affected by this anti-gun attack. If unaccountable administrators can skirt the law and set a precedent of banning ammunition as “armor piercing,” even though it does NOT meet the Congressional specifications of armor piercing, how long will it be until ammunition used in traditional hunting rifles is banned because it can penetrate body armor? Probably not long. If the administration pulls this off, they will be emboldened, and all ammunition types will be in their crosshairs. That means any and all guns could eventually be rendered useless. Clearly, that’s the end game.

This is a Serious Threat
Make no mistake, the anti-gun fanatics in the Obama administration and the bureaucracy are serious about taking your guns, and this new scheme is proof. If they can’t take your guns directly, they’ll take away the materials required to use them, rendering them useless. One method works as well as the other if the goal is to end the citizen’s practical exercise of his gun rights.

You and other gun rights supporters have already lofted one volley toward Washington to make sure this gun grab fizzles in the pan, but this is a very serious threat, and one may not be enough. It is absolutely critical that we stop this, and stop it now. Below, see how you can easily send messages to your representatives in D.C. to demand they defund any effort to ban ammunition. Our representatives should be supporting an amendment to the DHS appropriations bill to bar the BATFE from banning this ammunition. Also below, see how you can contact the BATFE and tell them not to reclassify M855 ammunition. Please take a minute to do this. Your gun freedom may depend on it!

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!

To Obama, From Russia With Love… And 20 Megatons

As Russia celebrates ‘Defender Of The Fatherland’ Day, they had an interesting message on the side of the parade’s missiles: “To be personally delivered to Obama.”

President Obama: Do you really love America?

Good message but what kind of exposure and reaction would this statement be if it was made by a white male over 50 years old? The only media reaction would be labeling the man as a racist. More likely, it would be ignored. I believe if it was made by a white adolescent, then the parents would be castigated.

As I said earlier, it is a good message but in the end, it will not have any impact on what is coming.

The Three Types of Insurgencies

Guerrillamerica

There’s a sizable number of those in the Patriot community who believe that restoring Liberty will come to violence and, of those, a great number believe that an insurgency is the way forward.

Insurgencies are often how the disaffected few, be they religious, ethnic, or political/ideological groups, respond to the perceived tyranny of the many.  But the track record of insurgencies is fairly weak; less than 40% of them have succeeded since 1945.  According to Max Boot, insurgent/guerrilla-expert-extraordinaire, of the 443 insurgencies since 1775, only 25% of them were successful.  And since 1945 over 50% of government counterinsurgencies have succeeded.  On its face, that doesn’t say much for the likely success rate of a nationwide insurgency.

What’s much more likely is that we see fragmented secession movements, backed up with credible threats of force on behalf of burgeoning insurgencies.  This is what I see as a much larger trend on a longer time frame, not what’s right around the corner.  We could easily be another ten years out from this scenario, barring any catastrophic events until we get there.  I think this nation’s current trajectory — the Magic Marxist Muslim and all — still gives us three to five years, at least.  (When people are expecting eventual calamity, it’s easy for them to overly simplify things and expect it to happen tomorrow, which is what we see with many in the Patriot-Prepper community. The times are getting dire, but not that dire.)

So we have some time to get acquainted with an academic understanding of insurgencies, what makes them successful, and which model presents the highest likelihood of success.

Rob Bell: Bible Not Relevant to Today’s Culture

Former Mars Hill church Pastor Rob Bell has been raising a lot of eyebrows for his evolving views about Christianity and the Bible.

Bell and his wife, Kristen, recently appeared with Oprah Winfrey on her “Super Soul Sunday” program, where he suggested the Bible is irrelevant to today’s culture.

“We’re moments away. I think the culture is already there. And the church will continue to be even more irrelevant when it quotes letters from 2,000 years ago as their best defense,” he told Winfrey when asked about the Church embracing gay marriage.

So much for the Republic. I understand that one person’s viewpoint cannot be transferred to represent the national viewpoint. How could one person “transform” the country? Unless its morality is already lost. We are not a moral nation and you have elected immoral leaders.

I am thankful to have found a church that actually preaches the Word of God.
