Points from Ann Barnhardt

Here is ridonkulously spectacular quote from Donoso Cortes number one.  Read it over and over again until you get it.  I can’t bold it, because every syllable should be bolded, in 100 point font, or better yet, just written in the sky.  Good grief, this is spectacular:

“There is no man, let him be aware of it or not, who is not a combatant in this hot contest; no one who does not take an active part in the responsibility of the defeat or victory. The prisoner in his chains and the king on his throne, the poor and the rich, the healthy and the infirm, the wise and the ignorant, the captive and the free, the old man and the child, the civilized and the savage, share equally in the combat. Every word that is pronounced, is either inspired by God or by the world, and necessarily proclaims, implicitly or explicitly, but always clearly, the glory of the one or the triumph of the other. In this singular warfare we all fight through forced enlistment; here the system of substitutes or volunteers finds no place. In it is unknown the exception of sex or age; here no attention is paid to him who says, I am the son of a poor widow; nor to the mother of the paralytic, nor to the wife of the cripple. In this warfare all men born of woman are soldiers.

And don’t tell me you don’t wish to fight; for the moment you tell me that, you are already fighting; nor that you don’t know which side to join, for while you are saying that, you have already joined a side; nor that you wish to remain neutral; for while you are thinking to be so, you are so no longer; nor that you want to be indifferent; for I will laugh at you, because on pronouncing that word you have chosen your party. Don’t tire yourself in seeking a place of security against the chances of war, for you tire yourself in vain; that war is extended as far as space, and prolonged through all time. In eternity alone, the country of the just, can you find rest, because there alone there is no combat. But do not imagine, however, that the gates of eternity shall be opened for you, unless you first show the wounds you bear; those gates are only opened for those who gloriously fought here the battles of the Lord, and were, like the Lord, crucified.”  —Juan Donoso Cortes

Putin prepares bitter and hysterical missile surprise to ‘American partners’

Putin prepares bitter and hysterical missile surprise to 'American partners'. Russian new super missiles ready

Russia’s new sea-based cruise missiles reduce the military power of the United States on a vast geopolitical region from Warsaw to Kabul and from Rome to Baghdad.

US President Barack Obama, speaking at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly, stated that Russia’s actions posed the largest threat to the world. According to Obama, Russia is more dangerous to the world than international terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism. Obama’s attacks on the Russian Federation were hysterical and frankly inadequate. What made the president of the strongest country in the world say such an absurd thing?

Information about new Russian sea-launched cruise missiles could be a reason. Putin announced the deployment of such missiles and said that the missiles would bring the US military power to nothing and minimize Washington’s superiority on a vast geopolitical region from Warsaw to Kabul and from Rome to Baghdad.

Here is how the story was developing.

Day of Wrath with Dr. Bill Forstchen

Day of Wrath

After reading George Orwell’s 1984, it was difficult to ignore the very tangible possibility that our federal government could become a threat to our unalienable rights instead of a protector of our freedom.  Phrases from that book superimposed on the fabric of today’s technology warn us that we are now so very close to Orwell’s totalitarian nightmare.

In 2009, a book was published that caused a visceral quantum shift in focus for an entire group of people. That book, One Second After by Dr. Bill Forstchen, immediately reached the New York Times best seller list, where it remained for 12 weeks. On page two of the book, the United States is devastated by an apocalyptic EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack that destroys the electrical grid, all electronic devices, and the availability of basic life necessities (food, clean water, transportation, communication, medicine). The inhabitants of a small rural community in the western North Carolina Mountains struggle to survive and rebuild a civilized society in the absence of traditional authority. That dangerous and painful, trial-and-error process became the field manual for many tea party/patriot groups, as well as many individuals and families. This book, along with an out of control government and world-wide unease, quietly revitalized and mainstreamed the “prepper” movement.

Today our nation faces formidable internal and external threats.  These threats have galvanized the “prepper” community and others to prepare for the aftermath of any catastrophic event that has the potential to eradicate the thin veneer of civilization. Regardless of what that event may actually be, a top contender for the greatest single threat to our safety and freedom is Radical Islamic Jihad and its unrelenting ideology of terrorism and oppression.

Numerous FX Brokers Shutter After Suffering “Significant Losses” Following SNB Stunner

Update: 2 more FX brokers have just gone belly up, UK-based Calpari and New Zealand’s Excel Markets.

From Alpari’s statement:

The recent move on the Swiss franc caused by the Swiss National Bank’s unexpected policy reversal of capping the Swiss franc against the euro has resulted in exceptional volatility and extreme lack of liquidity.  This has resulted in the majority of clients sustaining losses which has exceeded their account equity. Where a client cannot cover this loss, it is passed on to us. This has forced Alpari (UK) Limited to confirm today, 16/01/15, that it has entered into insolvency. Retail client funds continue to be segregated in accordance with FCA rules.

This is what Alpari’s CEO, James Hughes, who dubbed the SNB move as “horribly irresponsible”, for obvious reasons now, said:

“I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ll hear on the subject and the SNB are going to be heavily scrutinised in the coming weeks for what appears to be a horribly irresponsible move on their part. For years central banks have tried to avoid days like today by being transparent and making moves like this over time while drip feeding their intentions to the markets. The SNB have shown themselves to be amateurs today and there is many people that will suffer considerably as a result.”

And  here is New Zealand brokerage Excel Markets confirming it too would not continue operations.  “The majority of clients in a franc position were on the losing side and sustained losses amounting to far greater than their account equity. When a client cannot cover their losses it is passed on to us.”

Duke University reverses plan for bell tower Muslim call to prayer

Duke University scrapped plans on Thursday to allow the Muslim call to prayer to emanate from its chapel bell tower, university officials said, amid fierce criticism from conservative Christians and anger from alumni.

Earlier in the week, university officials said the weekly chant by Muslim students, known as the adhan, would be amplified from Duke Chapel beginning on Friday.

“Duke remains committed to fostering an inclusive, tolerant and welcoming campus for all of its students,” said university spokesman Michael Schoenfeld in a statement announcing the reversal. “However, it was clear that what was conceived as an effort to unify was not having the intended effect.”

Let me be clear, Duke backed down for one reason: alumni donations. Like people, institutions have character and honor. Or not as shown by Duke University.

Bank Run in Geneva?

There are long lines of people at banks in Geneva as people realize a windfall of 30% overnight by converting Swiss francs into Euros. And that is how quickly your dollars will become devalued in the future when the petrodollar collapses.

What measures are you taking to protect your financial assets?

Moscow… Or Geneva?

A month ago, when the Russian Ruble was crashing, developed nations were delighted to poke fun of Russians who lined up in front of currency exchange kiosks, supposedly to convert their rapidly devaluing Rubles into Dollars or other rising fiat.
