It’s All the Tea Party’s Fault

The article below states that the Tea Party may be responsible for the loss of a Senate seat for the Republican party. The headline should read that the people are rejecting GOP mandates and want true representation. Is it possible that people are recognizing that there is no political solution for our nation’s problems? Is it possible that people are recognizing that politicians in both parties are causing the problems?

As the GOP in North Carolina is finding out, ramming Thom Tillis down our throats over Greg Brannon was not such a good idea. As a former party leader told me last week: “I will hold my nose and vote for Tillis”. I got tired of holding my nose a long time ago.

Tea Party revolt imperils Kansas

Kansas Tea Party supporters are threatening to sit out the state’s pivotal Senate election, potentially dealing another blow to the reelection hopes of Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.).

Though schisms within the GOP base rarely have such an outsized impact on a general election contest, the lack of support from the conservative base could be devastating to the vulnerable Roberts’s chances against surging independent Greg Orman.

Multiple sources tell The Hill that a group of Tea Party leaders in the state are meeting Wednesday to try to decide whether they should go to bat for the incumbent this fall or sit out of the race entirely.

Oklahoma Jihadist Who Beheaded Colleen Hufford Was Not Fired, the Islamic Ritual Slaughter was “Premeditated”

colleen hufford3

Jah’Keem Yisrael, Islamic State jihadist, was not fired. He was suspended. He was screaming Islamic verses as he beheaded Colleen Hufford.
It was premeditated Islamic ritual slaughter — Jah’Keem went home, grabbed “a large bladed knife” and “returned to get revenge” — sharia-style. In the plant’s administrative office, police say, Nolen attacked 54-year-old Colleen Hufford from behind and severed her head from her body.

The criminal complaint released today states that Nolen drove to his home “for the sole reason to retrieve a large bladed knife.” He then went back to work “with the large knife in his shoe, in order to assault an employee of the business with the knife.”

CDC Confirms First Ebola Case Diagnosed In The US, In Dallas Hospital

As experts (as opposed to President Obama) had warned, the probability of Ebola coming to the US is around 20% by year-end. So it should not be a total surprise that:

  • *CDC CONFIRMS FIRST EBOLA CASE DIAGNOSED IN THE UNITED STATES
  • *EBOLA PATIENT IS IN DALLAS HOSPITAL, NEWS 8 REPORTS

CDC will hold a press conference at 530ET. This perhaps explains why CDC was “taking precautions in the US” as we noted previously. And don’t forget the administration’s interference in Ebola treatments.

Police Want to Get Rid of Their Pentagon-Issued Combat Gear. Here’s Why They Can’t.

An officer with the Chelan County Sheriff’s Department in central Washington is offering me a tank. Three of them, actually.

“We really want to get rid of these,” Undersheriff John Wisemore says. “We’ve been trying to get the military to take them back since 2004.”

The tanks came from a vast Defense Department grant program that has furnished American police arsenals, at no charge, with $4.3 billion worth of combat equipment leftover from two foreign wars. The tanks are amphibious, capable of firing 107-mm mortars—and not remotely useful to Wisemore’s rural police department. But the county can’t seem to unload them. Back in June, Wisemore got an email from a Defense Department liaison promising to explain how Chelan County can get rid of the tanks. Then, nothing. Until further notice, Wisemore says, “they’re just going to sit there.”

In the past eight years, the Pentagon grant program has loaned local law enforcement some 200,000 ammunition magazines, 94,000 machine guns, and thousands of armored vehicles, rifles, aircraft, land mine detectors, silencers, and grenade launchers—all at the request of the local agencies themselves. But images of the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, of police in military gear cracking down on peaceful protesters, have turned many communities against a program critics say has eroded the line between police officers and soldiers. Recently, in response to the local outcry over aggressive policing tactics, San Jose, California’s police department announced plans to return its mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicle (MRAP), and the Los Angeles school system police department has agreed to return its three grenade launchers.

Dallas hospital is evaluating patient for possible Ebola

A patient admitted by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas has been placed in strict isolation and is being evaluated for a potential Ebola infection “based on the patient’s symptoms and recent travel history,” the hospital said in a statement.

The statement did not say what symptoms the patient was displaying, or where the unidentified person had traveled, although the deadliest Ebola outbreak in history is centered in the West African countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, where it has killed more than 3,000 people and infected thousands of others. There is a separate outbreak in Congo.

The Dallas hospital said it is “following all federal Centers for Disease Control and Texas Department of Heath recommendations to ensure the safety of patients, hospital staff, volunteers, physicians and visitors.” Test results are expected from the CDC on Tuesday, the statement said.

Zachary Thompson, director of the Dallas County Health and Human Services Department, told the local CBS affiliate that the patient had been in an area where the Ebola virus exists.

The Fed’s “Stealth Bailout” Of Foreign Banks Goes Mainstream

Foreign firms have received nearly half of the $9.8 billion in interest the Fed has paid banks since the beginning of last year for the money, called reserves, they deposit at the U.S. central bank according to an analysis of Fed data by The Wall Street Journal. Those lenders control only about 17% of all bank assets in the U.S.

Moreover, the Fed’s plans for raising interest rates make it likely banks will see those payments grow in coming years.

Hmm, we almost feel like we should bring up the dreaded “P” word considering the bolded sentence is a recap of what we said in February of 2013 in “How The Fed Is Handing Over Billions In “Profits” To Foreign Banks Each Year.” That’s ok, though: imitation, flattery and all that…

BUILDING TRIBE, II

FO_Cover_Fall14

by John Mosby

We, as preppers, tend to let the potential future bad times take precedence over the good moments in our lives today. Sure, the government sucks, rule-of-law is gone, and Islamo-fascist jihadists are going to be setting off car bombs at the mall next week. That sucks. We all know it, but we need to be prepared to deal with it.

Here’s the catch. If you’re constantly fretting about it, it’s because you’re not prepared. You don’t have the skills to deal with it, and you know it. Otherwise, you’d take precautions, but you’d also continue living your life. Look at your friends and family, and figure out what you want to do together that doesn’t involve dressing up in camouflage and playing GI Joe. Then, go do that. Take your family and your best friend’s family to the water park, or out to the county fair. Do things together.

Tribes aren’t built at picnics or at weekly meetings. Tribes are forged during ‘the suck’. But the initial efforts are built by spending time together and getting to know one another under various circumstances.

Even if you do have a friend who is a prepper, do your wives get along? Have they spent social time together? Do they do things together as families, with the people you expect you will have to count on. Remember the old adage, “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” If your wives don’t get along, it doesn’t matter how bad ass your buddy’s prepper gear is, that band isn’t going to survive tough times as a unit.

Obama Invites Indian Leader to Dinner While He Is Observing Religious Fast

Narendra Modi

The Obama administration was grilled on Monday for inviting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a state dinner while he is fasting as part of a Hindu religious observance, a move that has been criticized by some as insensitive.

Obama will host Modi Monday evening at the White House “for a private dinner” that will also be attended by Vice President Joe Biden, the White House announced Monday morning. The event is closed to the press.

However, the administration appears to have forgotten that Modi is in the middle of carrying out a religious fast in observance of the Hindu navratri, in which the faithful abstain from food, according to reports.
