Epiphany

I had an epiphany last night concerning the pResident. We have all read the talking heads’ analysis of Obama throughout the past six years but it is really simple: Obama represents the epitome of the entitlement movement. Both he and his wife received their law degrees but never had to work for a living. Their high paying positions were an appeasement with no productivity. So now we have a pResident who is paid to take vacations, blame other people for his inaction and live an extravagant lifestyle to do nothing. Because that is what someone does who is “entitled”. In the meantime, the wolves are literally at our doorstep. People do not make predictions because they do not want to jeopardize their credibility. But I will make a prediction: we will have an attack on our country before the elections. What will this pResident do when this happens? It does not matter. At this point, the question is: what we you do?

Gangs & Intelligence Preparation of the Community

Guerrillamerica

From Newsweek:

For St. Louis Gangs, Ferguson Has Become a Recruiting Tool:

As they ran through a cloud of tear gas during demonstrations in Ferguson, Missouri, on Monday, Andre Ellis, 17, linked arms with Graig “Shine” Cook, a self-identified Bloods gang member who’d befriended him two nights earlier.

Amid the widespread anger and heightened racial tensions here, several dozen young men, including Ellis—most between the ages of 16 and 19—have joined up with the Bloods, the Crips and other criminal gangs in the St. Louis area, according to several gang members, police officers, community activists and local residents.

With more than 90 documented gangs active in the St. Louis area…

For those living in St. Louis and the surrounding areas, this Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) information should go directly into your Intelligence Preparation of the Community product.  This threat reporting is exactly why we treat reporters and journalists as our intelligence gatherers.  They’re out there collecting around the clock, and it’s up to us to monitor this “intelligence information reporting” and conduct a thorough analysis of a) the veracity of the incoming information, and b) the implications of this information and how it might affect our community.

Obama orders review of military equipment supplied to police

President Obama ordered the review of federal programs that provide military equipment to local law enforcement amid criticism of police tactics in Ferguson, Mo.

The White House confirmed the review but said no other information is available since the details are still taking shape.

Just Wait Until Ferguson Police Get Federally Funded Drones

Last week, I found myself musing darkly, “Just wait till Ferguson’s cops get federally funded drones.” If you think paramilitary policing looks dystopian now, just wait till you see what’s being cooked up in defense contractors’ labs.

For decades now, as Radley Balko makes clear in his indispensable 2013 book, Rise of the Warrior Cop, federal subsidies have encouraged the proliferation of military ordnance on the home front — from M-16s to grenade launchers to 30-ton armored vehicles. Since 2002, the Department of Homeland Security has accelerated police paramilitarization with more than $7 billion in Urban Areas Security Initiative grants.

With Homeland Security funding, “Police departments are arming themselves with military assets often reserved for war zones,” Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., noted in a 2012 report on the UASI program. Among those assets are surveillance drones and the Long Range Acoustic Device — a sound cannon deployed last week in Ferguson that can disperse crowds with a 149-decibel assault (permanent hearing loss begins at 130).

Overheard at Training Today

A year ago, my wife did not want to hear anything about prepping. Now we have a budget for prepping.

David DeGerolamo

Update:

The message is simple. A man starting preparing one year ago. His wife did not understand why this was necessary. Fast forward one year. The wife is prepping and they have a budget every month for prepping.

When ‘Anti-Government’ Violence Erupts, Who Is Really At Fault?

by Brandon Smith

This past week, I have been examining a recently leaked document from the Department Of Homeland Security entitled “Domestic Violent Extremists Pose A Threat To Government Officials And Law Enforcement.” (Yes; the title leaves nothing to the imagination.)

Generally, such documents are not classified. But it is internally accepted within establishment agencies that they should not be shared with the public. Similar documents like the Missouri Information Analysis Center report titled “The Modern Militia Movement” and the Virginia Fusion Center’s Terrorism Threat Assessment are not designed to import in-depth knowledge to law enforcement. In fact, if you actually investigate these white papers thoroughly, you will find they read like a mentally challenged middle-school student’s last-minute book report on liberty groups in America.

Rather than convey the complexity of the conflict between federal bureaucracy and constitutionalists, the papers linked above are meant to indoctrinate law enforcement officials against even considering what we have to say or why we take the actions we take.

Often, the Southern Poverty Law Center, a shameless propaganda outlet known for its Saul Alinsky tactics, is tapped as the primary source of “data” for these reports. At no time have I ever seen a government report on “domestic extremism” accusing liberty activists that actually allows a subset of the liberty movement to personally describe our position.

Database Shows What Military Equipment Your Local Police Department Has Been Stockpiling

There’s no doubt that domestic law enforcement agencies on every level have been ramping up their militarization efforts in recent years. In fact, it’s gotten so bad that it has prompted Senator Rand Paul to call for a demilitarization of domestic police departments. “The images and scenes we continue to see in Ferguson resemble war more than traditional police action,” notes Paul in a recent article.

We know that the Department of Homeland Security has been buying up billions of rounds of ammunition, military grade rifles, armored vehicles, riot gear and a host of other supplies. But local police stockpiles have remained fairly hidden from the public, save for the brief peeks we get during mass policing actions like those in Ferguson, Missouri over the last week.
