California Now Suffering Worst Drought Ever, 2014 Hottest Year On Record

While most headlines are focused on the devastating drought in California, which by some measures is the worst on record, there is another ‘factor’ that has exploded to record highs – the heat. As Bloomberg reports, the California heat this year is like nothing ever seen, with records that go back to 1895 and with 70 percent of the state’s pastures rated “very poor to poor,” according to the USDA, things do not appear to be about to get better any time soon.

As Bloomberg reports,

The California heat this year is like nothing ever seen, with records that go back to 1895. The chart below shows average year-to-date temperatures in the state from January through July for each year. The eastern half of the U.S. has had an unusually cool 2014, but it’s a lone exception compared to the rest of the planet

Order of Battle

milorgs_us_army_chart

Order of Battle (OB), sometimes referred to as OrBat/ORBAT, is an intelligence product detailing the command, strength and disposition, and equipment of military units.  There’s a likely an OB product for every military in the world sitting at the Pentagon right now.  Order of Battle products are updated periodically to reflect the most current design and health of the adversary or potential adversarial military.  The OB is one of the most important of all intelligence products when facing a known adversary, and it costs nothing but time to produce.

We’ve talked about Tables of Organization & Equipment (TO&E) before, and OB is taking it one step further.  We build OB products because they allow us to authoritatively estimate the capabilities of adversaries.  The more we know about an adversary’s organization, the better we can identify his courses of action (COA).  At the same time, we can begin to remove potential COAs because they’re unfitting for those types of units, or the force is too small or too large to pursue this particular COA, or the force is too technologically limited to pursue that COA, or the force is too vulnerable to pursue this other COA.

As intelligence analysts, we’re called to be experts on the enemy… ahem, ‘to find, know and never lose the enemy’comes directly from the Military Intelligence Creed.  It’s ingrained in intelligence analysts to be as good a subject matter expert as possible.  Without that expertise, a poor and/or incomplete analysis is likely to be created.  Poor intelligence gets some people killed; incomplete intelligence gets a lot of people killed.

A Doctor’s Ebola Note

As we head out this morning on our latest/next adventure, I wanted to pass along a note from a doctor/read of ours.

He sent in a marvelous note after reading one of our missives earlier this month.  I would have posted it sooner, but it got stuck under a pile of other emails – my bad.

George, thank you for your column today, especially the prepping notes, it was worth the annual fee just for todays information. (for my friends, seehttp://urbansurvival.com/coping-prepping-for-a-ebola/ )

However, there is some information on Ebola that you need to know and to disseminate.  If people don’t read anything else that I have written here, please understand that IF YOU TREAT A PATIENT WITH EBOLA OR GET NEAR THEM YOU WILL PROBABLY DIE.  You have no idea what it is like to take care of someone with this disease.

Basically it is impossible without knowing a tremendous amount about disease transmission.  Even the doctors with all their disease transmission gear don’t have a clue.

Chinese troops enter 25 km deep into Indian territory in Ladakh

Chinese troops are reported to have entered 25 to 30 km deep into Indian territory in Burtse area in Ladakh where they had pitched their tents last year that had led to a tense three-week standoff. Official sources said on Monday a patrol of Indian troops noticed the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) personnel on Sunday while moving from their base towards the higher ‘New Patrol base’ post in Burtse area of North Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir. The area is at an altitude of 17,000 feet.

The sources said the troops after walking barely 1.5 km from their base spotted the Chinese personnel in Indian territory 25 to 30 km from the perceived Line of Actual Control (LAC). Adhering to newly drafted Standard Operating Procedures, the Indian troops returned back to their base. The troops went on a patrol again to the ‘New Patrol base’ post in the wee hours of Monday.

Russian Convoy Attack Update

On Friday, Zerohedge, UK Telegraph, Reuters and the Guardian reported that the Russian humanitarian convoy (or a portion of it) entered Ukraine. Ukraine announced that they destroyed the convoy with artillery. It sounded like the beginning of WW III to me. The markets in the US and Germany reacted (briefly), Russia denied it and Europe issued a statement that Russian retaliation would be met with force.

And then silence.

This morning the press is declaring that this was a Ukrainian hoax. Let’s assume that this event never happened which means that Ukraine lied:

1. Ukraine lied to the world in order to start a war or at a minimum, gain sympathy/money/weapons. That makes no sense because the hoax would be exposed and there would be consequences with their allies.

2. The only evidence to date is a short video showing a minimally bombed airport with some military vehicles. I doubt that Ukraine would wait for the convoy to enter a valuable piece of of their infrastructure to bomb the convoy.

3. The credibility of the media has been diminished. Why would major news organizations report this story? Every story should be verified by two sources: in this case there were three (not counting Zerohedge).

4. Could the attack have been covered up like the media did for Hamas over the past month?

5. Why is the West not condemning this “hoax”.

As with most everything today, there are more questions than answers. Our leaders should be condemning this “false flag” instead of ignoring it. Was it a false flag or a coverup? I would like to know since that could have been an Archduke Ferdinand moment in history. However, the sheep need to graze now.

Who Does Police the Cops?

The people in Ferguson, MO ask a valid question: Who polices the cops? I am not condoning looter or rioting. So what is the point?

In the future, we will be confronting the police. Directly. They know it and the government knows it. We sit and watch as the militarized police escalate a bad situation. The pResident does nothing which is correct: this is not a federal issue. Unless it was a hate crime. Which the DOJ is investigating. So at this time, it is a state matter under the direction of the governor. Because local law enforcement failed to contain the situation. Do I know all of the “facts” in this matter? No one does but once again, that is not the point.

The question is what happens when we realize that we live in a world without law? Law as defined by our founding principles instead of law designed to control us. Have you not already had this conversation with friends? How many people said that the police are Oathkeepers and would follow the Constitution? Did that give you comfort? The reality is now shown in Ferguson and the police will not give us quarter: they will give us exigent circumstances as they did in Boston.

We have difficult choices to make in the future if we believe in the Lord and have Sacred honor. We cannot “hope” that the police will act in the best interests of the people. Start a line of communications now with law enforcement. Ask to meet with your community reachout officer. If they do not have one, volunteer and start a line of communications.

Who polices the cops? Right now, the answer is obvious. If you want change instead of control, become proactive before Anytown, USA becomes Ferguson. Because if this civil unrest spreads, our country is a tinder box.

After more than a week of violent confrontations, tensions continues in Ferguson (following the death of Mike Brown –shot at least 6 times, twice in the head). The second night of quasi-martial-law in the Missouri town has once again erupted into riots (the third night in a row) as militarized police response just hours ahead of the midnight curfew.Protesters have looted stores and restaurants (including a McDonalds) and the once again heavily-armed police forces have responded in force with tear-gas and rubber bullets (to which protesters are responding with Molotov cocktails and returning gas canisters). This shows no signs of de-escalation at all as crowds chant “who polices the cops?” CNN reports at least one protester hit by rubber bullets and multiple injuries. Multiple gun shots heard – police: “leave or be arrested.”

The police tactical response was triggered, according to a Lieutenant with St Louis city PD, by an attack on the command post with Molotov cocktails…

Why Ebola Will Not Be Contained

MONROVIA, Liberia — Liberian officials fear Ebola could soon spread through the capital’s largest slum after residents raided a quarantine center for suspected patients and took items including blood-stained sheets and mattresses.

The violence in the West Point slum occurred late Saturday and was led by residents angry that patients were brought to the holding center from other parts of Monrovia, Tolbert Nyenswah, assistant health minister, said Sunday.

Up to 30 patients were staying at the center and many of them fled at the time of the raid, said Nyenswah. Once they are located, they will be transferred to the Ebola center at Monrovia’s largest hospital, he said.

West Point residents went on a “looting spree,” stealing items from the clinic that were likely infected, said a senior police official, who insisted on anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the press. The residents took medical equipment and mattresses and sheets that had bloodstains, he said.

“All between the houses you could see people fleeing with items looted from the patients,” the official said, adding that he now feared “the whole of West Point will be infected.”

Liberia creates ‘plague villages’ in Ebola epicenter

To try to control the Ebola epidemic spreading through West Africa, Liberia has quarantined remote villages at the epicenter of the virus, evoking the “plague villages” of medieval Europe that were shut off from the outside world.

With few food and medical supplies getting in, many abandoned villagers face a stark choice: stay where they are and risk death or skip quarantine, spreading the infection further in a country ill-equipped to cope.

In Boya, in northern Liberia’s Lofa County, Joseph Gbembo, who caught Ebola and survived, says he is struggling to raise 10 children under five years old and support five widows after nine members of his family were killed by the virus.

Islamic State Executed 700 People from Syrian Tribe

A fighter of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) holds an ISIL flag and a weapon on a street in the city of Mosul

The Islamic State militant group has executed 700 members of a tribe it has been battling in eastern Syria during the past two weeks, the majority of them civilians, a human rights monitoring group and activists said on Saturday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which has tracked violence on all sides of the three-year-old conflict, said reliable sources reported beheadings were used to execute many of the al-Sheitaat tribe, which is from Deir al-Zor province.

The conflict between Islamic State and the al-Sheitaat tribe, who number about 70,000, flared after the militants took over two oil fields in July.

“Those who were executed are all al-Sheitaat,” Observatory director Rami Abdelrahman said by telephone from Britain. “Some were arrested, judged and killed.”

Congressman Hank Johnson fears Guam will tip over, March 25, 2010

A Democratic congressman (Hank Johnson) from Georgia is drafting legislation to limit a Pentagon program that provides surplus military equipment to local law enforcement. Thanks to Dave Burton for the reminder.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An interesting week filled with revelation.
1. I realized Thursday that my high level of anxiety for almost one week was due to spiritual warfare. Once this was revealed to me, I was able to confront this attack. As usual, the Lord sent help to me. Hermit Sister in Italy sent me a notice the next day that I would be included in the intentions of Nine Traditional Latin Masses beginning on August 14th through the 22nd. I received this on the 14th.
2. The Lord has blessed me with more than I deserve. My end goal to hear “arise good and faithful servant” is unchanged. The Lord is putting people in my life who are in need of salvation and the Word. I believe this is because time is short before the revolution. I pray for the strength to do good works in his name and lead these people to Christ.
3. It appears that I will be living up to my namesake. As much as I would like peace, I am being lead to prepare for battle. I pray for Sacred honor and the ability to overcome evil:
The Armor of God – Ephesians 6
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvationand the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
4. I was reminded of one of the lessons in Atlas Shrugged. As the government collapsed under its greed and arrogance, the people directly responsible for the destruction made plans to escape and live in luxury. This was one of the hardest lessons that I was taught. I could not initially grasp an evil that would create conditions to steal from and control people without remorse until the people were crushed or dead. This week showed me that we are close to this endgame: people who have helped destroy our Republic are not created equally. And the ones who are realizing that they will not be granted the salvation of the damned are making their own plan Bs. Never forget Bohoeffer’s admonition:
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil, God will not hold you guiltless.
Even Congressmen like Hank Johnson are realizing the personal danger that they have enabled will be impacting them. For some reason, I do not feel any sympathy for them.
Got Faith?
