Donetsk Declares Scorched Earth Policy if Deadline Ignored

(ZeroHedge)

The self-proclaimed “people’s governor” of Donetsk, Pavlo Gubarev…

has, according to KyivPost, threatened “total annihilation” of Ukrainian armed forces moved into Donetsk region if Kyiv did not pull them away from “the cities of Donbas” within one hour.

If the armored vehicles are not pulled back, the roadblocks of the so-called legitimate authorities are not removed, I will have enough power and means – the commander supported me today – to destroy and burn everything. Reconnaissance and sabotage groups are ready to move and some are steady,” deputy commander of the pro-autonomy militia of Donbass, Sergey Zdrilyuk, told RIA Novosti.
~~~~~
Nature abhors a vacuum. When you create a power vacuum in a region by fomenting division and revolt, that vacuum will be filled by the most opportunistic and aggressive player(s) on the field. This is true whether “the field” is in the Ukraine, or the United States, or anywhere else.  Watch closely those events which are about to unfold, for they are infinitely repeatable.
A Nation Reborn
christian mercenary
by T.L. Davis
The recent official coalition of the Patriot/Liberty groups and the militias signals an escalation in the the fight for Constitutional Restoration. This move to create a more seamless affiliation with militias, who will be called on to defend personal liberty from those determined to alienate it, and the unorganized, dedicated Three-percenters, including patriot/liberty bloggers, presents a force capable of defending individuals and ensuring that the truth of the conflict reaches the ears of the public.
The strength of the III % is numbers. Even those who do not identify themselves with the III% are one injustice away from understanding the importance of embracing the III. This puts the regime on the losing end of the equation. As they push harder and harder for control, they alienate a greater and greater percentage of the people. Right now, three-percent of the population is in excess of nine million people. There are considerably more Americans sick of being spied on, lied to and betrayed by the bureaucracies (IRS, VA, BLM and militarized police, etc.).
Why Elites And Psychopaths Are Useless To Society
by Brandon Smith
The ultimate and final goal of evil is to obscure and destroy our very conception of evil itself, to change the inherent moral fiber of all humanity until people can no longer recognize what is right and what is wrong. Evil is not a wisp of theological myth or a simplistic explanation for the aberrant behaviors of the criminal underbelly; rather, it is a tangible and ever present force in our world. It exists in each and every one of us. All men do battle with this force for the entirety of our lives in the hope that when we leave this Earth, we will leave it better and not worse.
When evil manifests among organized groups of people in the halls of power, power by itself is not always considered the greatest prize. The true prize is to mold society until it reflects the psychopathy that rots at the core of their being. That is to say, the elites, the oligarchy, the mad philosopher kings want to make us just like they are: proudly soulless. Only then can they rule, because only then will they be totally unopposed.
The problem is humanity is not only hardwired with a dark side; we are also hardwired with a conscience — at least, most of us are.
US Treasury Dump Begins – The End of the Petrodollar
Russia sold 20% of their US Treasurys since March. Belgium (the front for the European Union) now is the third largest holder of our debt. As our debt is transferred from the East to the West, the petrodollar’s future is on borrowed time. What will this mean for the average working family? Or I should say, how is this already impacting the average working family? There is no need to review the increased costs for food and gasoline. The savings rate in the United States is down to 3.8%. Even Walmart is feeling the pain with decreased sales (blamed on the weather).
What will it mean in the near future for us? As inflation rises, our life’s savings will be decimated by the devaluation of the dollar. Redistribution and hyperinflation will lead to civil unrest. Which is all according to the pResident’s plan.
Russia Dumps 20% Of Its Treasury Holdings As Mystery “Belgium” Buyer Adds Another Whopping $40 Billion
Back in mid-March, there was a brief scare after the start of the Ukraine conflict, when Fed custody holdings plunged by a record $104.5 billion (if promptly bouncing back the following week), leading many to believe that Russia may have dumped its Treasurys, or at least change its bond custodian. We noted that we wouldn’t have a definitive answer until the May TIC number came out to know for sure how much Russia had sold, or if indeed, anything. Moments ago the May TIC numbers did come out, and as expected, Russia indeed dumped a record $26 billion, or some 20% of all of its holdings, bringing its post-March total to just over $100 billion – the lowest since the Lehman crisis.
Eric Holder: No Plans at DOJ to Investigate Secret Waiting Lists and Veteran Deaths at VA Hospitals
Eric Holder official portrait
Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that the Department of Justice doesn’t have any plans to investigate allegations that veterans placed on secret waiting lists at VA hospitals died while waiting for care.
“Well, obviously these reports if they’re true are unacceptable, and the allegations are being taken very seriously by the administration. But I don’t have any announcements at this time with regard to anything that the Justice Department is doing,” Holder told reporters at a press conference.
“This is something on our radar screen at this point, but there is an investigation being done by the [VA] inspector general, and we’ll see what happens as a result of that inquiry and other information that comes to light in some form or fashion,” Holder added.
According to CNN, at least 40 veterans died while waiting for treatment at one VA hospital in Phoenix. Members of Congress have said in recent weeks that the inspector general investigation is inadequate and have called on the DOJ to launch its own investigation.
Report: Food Prices Skyrocket: “We’re Going to Have a Major Problem Coming Into the Fall”
food-inflation-may-2014
While government statisticians claim robust growth, recent data points suggest otherwise. Consumers are quickly running out of money, home sales have collapsed and hit their biggest drop in three years, there are more Americans out of the labor force than ever before, and one third of adults under the age of 35 are living with their parents because they can no longer afford to pay their own mortgage.
By all accounts, the reality is that we are now factually in a recession, a point further emphasized by the recent revelation that American companies are experiencing near zero percent earnings growth.
But that’s just the beginning. As we warned earlier this year, food prices would see a steady rise through 2014 because of increased global demand, drought and continued degradation of the U.S. dollar.
The Producer Price Index made available by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics this morning has now confirmed those fears. Consumers are seeing an immediate impact to their wallets in the form of food price inflation and in all likelihood the trend will continue going forward.
UPDATE 2: Reuters reports  – citing a doctor at Ha Tinh Hopsital – 21 dead (5 Vietnamese, 16 “described as Chinese”)
UPDATE 1: The Standard reports Anti-chinese riot leaves 1 dead, 90 injured in Vietnam
A top Taiwanese diplomat says rioters have stormed a large Taiwanese steel mill in Vietnam, killing at least one Chinese worker and injuring 90 more.
Ambassador to Vietnam Huang Chih-peng said the violence took place late Wednesday and early Thursday at the Formosa steel mill in central Vietnam.
Anti-Chinese sentiment has been running high in Vietnam ever since Beijing deployed an oil rig into disputed waters in the South China Sea on May 1.
Earlier this week, mobs burned and looted scores of foreign-owned factories in southern Vietnam, believing they were Chinese-run, but many were actually Taiwanese or South Korean
Alert: GRNC Hard At Work Repealing NC’s Jim Crow Gun Registry
NC Rep. Tom Moore is Working For You!
Most North Carolinians know that this state doesn’t have a gun registry. What many North Carolinians don’t know is that Durham County does have a gun registry; a throwback to racist Jim Crow laws that once plagued our great state.
In 1935 the State Legislature bowed to pressure from local officials and granted Durham County an exception to its rule against gun registries in the state. Durham County’s gun registry was another way for the county sheriff to capriciously and discriminately criminalize certain law-abiding citizens.
This law is so recklessly worded that you could be charged with a misdemeanor offense for passing through Durham County with an unregistered firearm! Of course, back in the day this was selectively enforced; we’ll leave it to you to imagine how.
This racist law persists to this day, and responsible law-abiding gun owners in Durham County are still required to go to the courthouse and surrender information about their lawfully-owned firearms—firearms that are nobody else’s business, and firearms that the other ninety-nine counties in North Carolina have no need to know about.
North Carolina Senate Bill 226 was introduced by North Carolina Senator Mike Woodard in 2013 to repeal Durham’s racist gun registry and bring it into the 21st century. Grassroots North Carolina would like to thank Rules Chair Rep. Tim Moore and Rep. Thom Tillis for agreeing to move this bill through the house in this summer’s short session, to help ensure that Durham County’s law-abiding citizens don’t continue to be treated like criminals.
We’re asking you to contact Representatives Moore and Tillis to thank them for agreeing to move swiftly on Senate Bill 226.
Laundromats proposed as immigrant welcome centers
The Charlotte City Council’s new effort to make the community more welcoming to immigrants could get a boost from a Latin American Coalition proposal to open a string of neighborhood laundromats that double as immigrant welcome centers.
Coalition leaders unveiled the idea late last week at the Foundation for the Carolinas during an event that hoped to recruit backers. The cost of opening the first laundromat will be in excess of $400,000, though organizers hope to reduce costs with corporate gifts.
Backers for the idea already include the Community Catalyst Fund and the Reemprise Fund, two grant-making entities that have provided a collective $95,000 to help the Latin American Coalition further develop the concept. Former Arts & Science Council President Scott Provancher is also acting as a consultant.
Great Books You May Never Have Read
A few months back, at the request of several readers, I put together a list of history books. This week I’d like to broaden that a bit and list a number of books that are not terribly well-known, but which are important.
There is a wide variety of books on this list, but they are all unique and well-worth reading.
Listen Little Man!, by Wilhelm Reich. The next time you have a nasty day and want to shake the world by the lapels and scream into its face to Wake up!, read this book. Wilhelm Reich was a really smart psycho-analyst who had been done wrong lots of times… and who really knew how to be pissed-off effectively. Once you’re done with the book, of course, you should let go of the anger; it’s not good for you. But for that occasional time when you’d like to see someone give the idiots their due, this is your book.
The Murder of Christ, by Wilhelm Reich. (The title notwithstanding, this is not about religion.) There’s something about this book. Not that I agree with all of it, of course. Reich’s answer to most everything is sex, and that’s just not correct… and there are other things in this book that I think are incorrect. Still, this book touches on things that I’ve seldom, if ever, seen anywhere else. It can be hard to find (the US government actually burned them in 1956!), but reprints are available. It’s an experience.
Legitimating Identities: The Self-Presentations of Rulers and Subjects, by Rodney Barker. Great coverage of one of the most important, but least known, factors in human civilization: legitimacy. Without legitimacy, governance fails, quickly and inevitably.
Psycho-Cybernetics, by Maxwell Maltz. This is one of those books that serious people just end up reading. The book is old (published in 1960), but if you find successful people of a certain age, the odds are very good that they’ve read this book. Continue reading
