You probably do not know that Ron Wyden is the democrat senator from Oregon who was responsible for Clapper’s perjury concerning illegal spying on the people. I believe he is one of the few good people in the US Senate:

Democrats are leery of Wild Card Wyden

A maverick senator’s ascension to the chairmanship of the Finance Committee next month could break years of legislative gridlock on one of the most influential panels in Congress.

Republicans are looking forward to working with Sen. Ron Wyden, a pragmatic Democrat from Oregon who has reached across the aisle on healthcare and taxes.

Wyden will soon take the gavel from Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), who has presided over the panel as chairman or ranking member since 2001. Baucus is expected to be confirmed as President Obama’s ambassador to China.

“I’m excited,” said Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.), who has co-sponsored a comprehensive tax reform bill with Wyden.

House easily passes $1T omnibus spending bill with 359-67 vote

The House on Wednesday easily approved a $1 trillion omnibus spending bill that would fund the government for the rest of fiscal 2014 and let Congress avoid the risk of a shutdown until the end of September.

Members voted 359-67 to pass the bill, which was opposed by 64 Republicans and three Democrats.

The three Democrats who voted “no” were Reps. Raúl Grijalva (Ariz.), Rush Holt (N.J.) and Mike McIntyre (N.C.), a centrist Democrat who is retiring at the end of this Congress.

Some Republicans were known to oppose the bill, given their opposition to restoring some of the sequester cuts, as was agreed to as part of the budget deal struck late last year. The bill allows discretionary spending to increase by $45 billion compared to the sequester.

“True, it adheres to the budget passed in December, but that’s nothing to brag about,” Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) said of the spending bill. “That budget destroyed the only meaningful constraint on federal spending that we had.”

Obama and NSA to the American People (and Congress): F@ck Off

But a poll from November showed that only 11% of Americans trust Obama to actually do anything to rein in spying.

We were right to be skeptical …

Today, Obama announced his fake “reforms” … and he’s not doing anything but putting lipstick on the same ‘old pig.

FEMA Seeking Contractors Who Can Supply Biohazard Disposal Facilities, Tarps and Housing Units With 24-48 Hours Notice

FEMA is seeking contractors who can supply medical biohazard disposal capabilities and 40 yard dumpsters to 1,000 tent hospitals across the United States; all required on 24-48 hour notice. Issued on January 10th, you can see the request here.

The request comes on the heels of other requests that the medical supply industry has received recently.

A request for 31,000,000 doses of pediatric flu vaccine from the CDC Solicitation notice can be seen here.

FEMA also put out solicitation requests for: 100,000 each of  winter shirts and pants and the same for summer. Interestingly only 10% of the items are to be in children’s sizes.

From Tarps to manufactured pre-fabricated housing units, the requests for goods and services is a long one. Most of the requests and solicitations have an indefinite delivery date and an indefinite number of items to be supplied, such as this one for beverages. Scroll down to the revised draft solicitation at the bottom of the page for the specific requirements of the request.

Re-living History

American society today is almost identical to September 10th, 2001, before the terrorist attack that took down the World Trade Center towers. It is a society whistling past the graveyard, knowing deep down that a reckoning is at hand. The difference is: the United States Government is the enemy to be revealed in one shocking attack that few anticipated.

Just as the WTC was attacked in 1993, but survived long enough for the forces of terrorism to regroup and return with a greater, more elaborate plan, the citizens of the United States were attacked by its government on October 3, 2008 when it passed the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), choosing to support banks and investment firms over its citizens. It chose to stabilize the economy by washing away crimes and bad practices of banks to the detriment of the people, thereby washing away trillions in equity in homes and investments. Instead of seeking to replace the people’s money, they (the government) took more of the people’s money and gave it to the banks.

TARP did stabilize a shaky financial system, but at the cost of everything America stood for. Just as the Patriot Act stabilized a shaky political system, but at the cost of everything America stood for.

Since October 3, 2008 the government has empowered the IRS, militarized police departments, changed the definition of “enemies” to include returning veterans; Christians; believers in the Constitution; those preparing to survive the obvious next attack; and many others. It has stacked the military with commanders who understand their role as defending the U.S. Government, not necessarily the people or the states of the United States.

Gun Owners Encounter With Police Disturbed Him So Much That Hes Thinking About Canceling His CCW PermitOn the surface, John Filippidis seems to be just the kind of responsible gun owner who should carry a concealed firearm. He’s a family man, small business owner and taxpayer who takes the responsibility of gun ownership seriously.

However, he’s now considering canceling his concealed carry permit after what happened to him while driving through Maryland with his wife and three kids a few weeks ago.

According to Filippidis and his wife, Kally, they noticed an unmarked patrol car tailing them while traveling for Christmas and a family wedding in Woodridge, N.J. He claims the police car stayed with them for ten minutes.

“We weren’t speeding. In fact, lots of other cars were whizzing past,” Filippidis told the Tampa Tribune.

Eventually, the car’s emergency lights came on and he pulled the car over. The officer was reportedly with the Transportation Authority Police, “Maryland’s version of the New York-New Jersey Port Authority,” according to the report.

It should be noted that what happened next is the account of Filippidis and his wife. The Maryland Transportation Authority Police declined to comment, pending an investigation. However, Filippidis says he has received apologies from the officer’s captain and the MTAP internal affairs captain.

Chinese Defense Ministry Confirms Hypersonic Missile Test

China's Communist Party-affiliated Global Times newspaper on Tuesday published a graphic showing the potential flight of China's recent test of a hypersonic glide vehicle, following disclosure of the report in Free Beacon.

China’s Defense Ministry on Wednesday confirmed that weapons designers recently conducted the first test of an ultra-high speed missile vehicle considered cutting edge military technology.

In a two-sentence statement faxed to news agencies and state-run media in Beijing, the ministry confirmed the flight test of a new hypersonic glide vehicle.

U.S. defense officials said the test of what the Pentagon is calling the WU-14 hypersonic glide vehicle took place Jan. 9 over China.

The ministry confirmed the test after it was first reported by the Washington Free Beacon Jan. 13.

“Our planned scientific research tests conducted in our territory are normal,” the ministry said in the statement. “These tests are not targeted at any country and at any specific goals.”

Lawmakers seek data on sailors’ exposure to Fukushima radiation

House and Senate lawmakers want answers on whether U.S. sailors received high doses of radiation while supporting humanitarian operations in Japan following the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

In the fiscal 2014 omnibus budget bill, lawmakers direct Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs Dr. Jonathan Woodson to provide Congress a full accounting of those who served on the carrier Ronald Reagan during the operation and any medical problems they later developed.

A group of sailors has filed suit against Tokyo Electric Power Co., alleging they suffered health issues as a result of exposure to radiation leaked from the company-owned Fukushima nuclear power plant when it had a meltdown after the earthquake and subsequent tidal wave.

Obama puts NC State in charge of electronics innovation effort

North Carolina State University will lead a group of six universities and 18 private-sector companies in a new manufacturing innovation institute, President Barack Obama announced Wednesday during a visit to the Triangle.

The Next Generation Power Electronics Innovation Institute will help companies and universities invest in manufacturing technology and develop cutting-edge electronics to boost efficiencies and spur hiring. It’s the second such manufacturing innovation hub that Obama called for in his State of the Union address last year.

“I don’t want the next big job-creating discovery and research and technology to be in Germany or China or Japan. I want it to be right here in the United States of America. I want it to be right here in North Carolina,” Obama told a crowd of about 2,000 people packed into the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on N.C. State’s campus.

They’re Not Gods – They’re Not Even that Smart

I hear people making all sorts of predictions of what the powers that be (TPTB) will allow or not allow. Honestly, they treat this group as though they are omnipotent.

Just to be clear, the term, “powers that be” generally refers to the partnership between central banking cartels, mega-corps, and governments (including military, spy agencies, and secret police). I will use it in that way also.

And while these groups have tremendous power in certain areas, they are not gods. In fact, they are, as individuals, not much more capable than the average person. Many of them, particularly at the higher levels, hold their positions by birth and not necessarily (or usually) for any meritocratic reason.
