Obama supporters in San Diego, California sign a petition to ban and confiscate gold coins from people’s homes and safe deposit boxes as part of the President’s economic recovery plan. Author and media analyst Mark Dice uses the key words “will you help Obama” and that’s all it takes for people to sign his crazy petition.
President Obama has been loud and clear about his fight against income inequality, but he admitted that the rich have fared far better than the poor during his time in the White House.
In an interview that aired Sunday on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” the show host cited a recent study from the University of California, Berkeley, that found 95% of income gains from 2009 to 2012 went to the top 1% of the earning population.
The president agreed with Stephanopoulos.
“The folks in the middle and at the bottom haven’t seen wage or income growth, not just over the last three, four years, but over the last 15 years,” the president said.
In fact, other data also show that America’s median household income has dropped by more than $4,000 since 2000, after adjusting for inflation.

“In Search of Mr. Jefferson’s Liberty” ended with a contention that “consent” defines our personal status in relation to government and liberty. This essay explores the meaning and consequence of “consent”.
Our US Declaration of Independence says: “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…” Consent plays a critical role in defining social and political order.
Both the North Carolina Constitution of 1776 and our current Constitution of 1971 rely on “consent” as their source for authority: “The people of this State shall not be taxed or made subject to the payment of any impost or duty without the consent of themselves or their representatives in the General Assembly, freely given.”
Webster’s dictionary of 1828 defines consent as (1) A yielding of the mind or will to that which is proposed, (2) To yield what one has the power, the right, or the disposition to withhold, or refuse to grant. We use this word where power, rights, and claims are concerned. Consent often amounts to permission.
The philosophical appeal of consent theory is that it captures our nature as autonomous moral beings. Consent is an essential element in the delivery of justice under maxims of common law; e.g. “No man has the right to force an obligation on another with impunity.” Consent denies that force or coercion, conquest or de facto power as such, can place upon us any moral obligation.
Most of the abuses and usurpations of government can be traced to consent, often acquired by dubious means. The most insidious of the “dubious means” is the presumption that “free acceptance of benefits” grants an implied consent.
A legal contract is established whenever a benefit is accepted from government. Once you enter into a contract for defined benefit (protection and/or payment from the public treasury) you have ‘consented’ to be bound by the legislative jurisdiction and civil statutes of the state.

Concealed handgun supporters must be vigilant and fight local attempts to flout improvements to concealed carry!
As you recall, when GRNC successfully fought to pass concealed carry in state and municipal parks in 2011, some city governments opposed to the changes adopted ordinances with over-broad interpretations of what constitutes a “recreational facility” where they could still ban guns. Given that HB 937, which becomes law on Oct. 1, expands concealed carry into restaurants, campuses and into more areas of parks, you can expect more local government resistance.
The most egregious offender has been Winston-Salem, which effectively continues to ban guns on greenways, lakes and entire parks. In response, GRNC has taken two actions: First, our non-profit arm, Rights Watch International, filed a lawsuit against the city. Second, we went back to the legislature and successfully narrowed the definition of “recreational facility” such that local governments could no longer ban guns on athletic fields (except during organized events), or on playgrounds, greenways and walking trails, or open fields.

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Recently, documents reviewed in the Federal Business Online website revealed a troubling discovery relating to the incestuous relationship within the Federal Government. It may have been perceived or even an open secret, but the Department of Defense has been with the Department of Homeland Security to provide them with massive amounts of fully automatic weapons. Weapons that have been banned from the general population for nearly 80 years.
In a solicitation for 370 Colt M4 weapons, 209 of which are fully automatic, the Customs Border Protection (CBP) agency, a part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), requested the following:

I have installed wireless IP cameras at my house in the mountains with Blue Iris software to allow 24/7 monitoring of the premises. This system has built-in motion sensors and night vision. When the motion sensor is tripped, two pictures are sent to my email account. A short video is also made and recorded. Without going into details, this house is in a very remote location with few people in the immediate vicinity. However, anyone doing surveillance within the radius of one mile would be noticed and reported.
The cameras are inconspicuous but effective as shown here. The individual in the first picture had already walked up the stairs to my second story, knocked on the front door and received no reply. He then went to the side of the house and checked the interior of the home as seen in the second picture.
Based on the time stamps, this individual went back to his vehicle and came back ten minutes later with what appears to be a computer and radio antenna. Continue reading

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has released 2,837 convicted criminal alien sex offenders back into American communities in order to comply with a Supreme Court decision authored by Clinton-appointed Justice Stephen Breyer, according to a new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
The 2,837 sex offenders represented five percent of the 59,347 deportable aliens released since last September under the supervision of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to the GAO report, which was released Thursday.
“There are circumstances in which criminal aliens who have been ordered removed from the United States – including those convicted of a sex offense – cannot be removed,” the report states. “For example, a criminal alien may not be removed because the designated country will not accept the alien’s return.”
