Boehner Backing Down?

Has Boehner Agreed to Follow Hastert Rule for GOP House Members Revolting Over Immigration?

Speaker Boehner: I’m not for a comprehensive immigration solution

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Tuesday that he will adhere to the “Hastert Rule” on immigration reform and denied claims that he is for a “comprehensive” solution.

Boehner’s remarks seek to appease conservatives who have grown increasingly restless about where House Republicans are headed on the thorny matter.

“I don’t see any way of bringing an immigration bill to the floor that doesn’t have a majority support of Republicans,” Boehner told reporters following a closed-door House GOP conference meeting, where he offered a similar message to his members.

HAS BOEHNER AGREED TO MEET KEY DEMAND OF GOP HOUSE MEMBERS REVOLTING OVER IMMIGRATION PUSH?

Speaker of the House John Boehner reportedly has agreed to follow the Hastert rule regarding any immigration bill put forth by the House, a key capitulation in a standoff that has pitted the Speaker against members of his own caucus who are taking a standagainst immigration reform they say has ulterior motives.

Still, early reports signal he may have given himself a way out.

The Hastert rule — which is more of a longstanding, unwritten policy — is the idea that no bill can be brought to the floor of the House without support from a majority of the party in power.

The rule was being pushed for by a group of 70 Republicans led by Michele Bachmann (Minn.), Louis Gohmert (Texas), and Steve King (Iowa). As TheBlaze reported exclusively, the coalition said they were compiling signatures last week for a letter to send to Boehner asking him to honor the policy.

“It’s A Massacre” – Each Day 134 Retail Outlets Close In Italy

If anyone is still not convinced that surging stock bourses in Europe are indicative of anything more than central bank liquidity, carry trade allocation and localized asset bubbles, we present a snapshot of what is actually happening on the ground via Italy’s Ansa: “It’s a massacre,” said Confesercenti President Marco Venturi. “Each day 134 shops, restaurants and bars close in recession-hit Italy, retail association Confesercenti said on Wednesday. Confesercenti, which represents small and medium-sized businesses in the retail and tourism sectors, said 224,000 enterprises had closed their shutters since the start of the global economic crisis in 2008.

“Every day five green grocers, four butchers, 42 clothes shops, 43 restaurants and 40 bars and catering business close down”.

But who needs commerce when all those newly available day traders can just boot up their E-trade platform and trade their way, along with the trading mascot baby, to untold riches?

“This Is A Glock Block” – Frustrated Homeowners All Over America Are Taking Matters Into Their Own Hands

Glock - Photo by SmarterlamAll over the United States, frustrated homeowners are banding together, arming themselves and patrolling their own streets.  One of the primary reasons this is happening is because police budgets all over the nation are being slashed at a time when violent crime rates in the United States are increasing and many our our largest cities are being transformed into crime-infested war zones.  So instead of waiting for government to come up with a solution, many Americans are taking matters into their own hands.  For example, one community group in Milwaukie, Oregon has started posting flyers with an ominous message for potential criminals: “This is a Glock block. We don’t call 911.”  You can see a photo of this flyer right here.  One of the founders of the “Glock Block” is a breast cancer survivor named Coy Tolonen.  She decided to arm herself after a thief stole one of her favorite statues out of her front yard while she was watching.

We are seeing similar things happen in other areas of the nation.  As I wrote about yesterday, the size of the police force has been cut in half in the city of Detroit over the past ten years.  Meanwhile, crime rates have skyrocketed.  So frustrated citizens are now teaming up with the police to patrol their own neighborhoods.

GRNC Alert 6-18-13: Sheriffs’ Lobbyist Stalls HB 937

Sheriffs’ lobbyist more worried about his nearly $290,000 salary than the rights of NC gun owners…

It has become clear that the cabal committed to preserving NC’s embarrassing and obsolete Jim Crow-era pistol permit system is being led by NC Sheriffs’ Association Executive Director, Eddie Caldwell. Not an elected Sheriff subject to the will of voters, but rather a lobbyist hired by the NCSA, he is clearly more interested in protecting his cushy job and benefits than the rights of North Carolinians.
HB 937 in jeopardy: McCrory needs spine injection
Worse, Governor Pat McCrory seems to be getting week in the knees in the face of sheriffs’ demands, and has instructed the House Republican Caucus to vote not to concur and to send the bill to a House-Senate conference committee to remove the measure. What is at stake, however, is not just the purchase permit repeal, but the entire bill, including restaurant and campus carry. Why? Because if the bill goes to conference committee — which will give the media and UNC more time to agitate, anything could be removed.
Latest round of GRNC radio spots highlight NCSA & McCrory
Caldwell is apparently trying to protect his nearly $290,000 per year compensation package after being blindsided by the purchase permit repeal addition to HB 937 in the Senate.
The whole sordid story is detailed in the GRNC video and radio spots just released HERE, or go to:http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=JcEXhtDjXrs&feature=youtu.be

Lavrov: Iran agrees to halt 20-percent uranium enrichment. West must lift sanctions

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

Iran has confirmed it is prepared to halt its enrichment of 20-percent uranium, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reported on the ministry website Tuesday, June 18. He urged Western nations to reciprocate by lifting sanctions.DEBKAfile: It was not clear whether this was a temporary suspension, an absolute halt – or a dodge for getting sanctions eased to enable the incoming Iranian president Hassan Rouhaini get to grips with his top priority, his country’s dire economic straits..
Lavrov explained persuasively in his message: “For the first time in many years, there are encouraging signs in the process of settlement of the situation with the Iranian nuclear program. It would be a shame not to take advantage of this opportunity.”

He called Tehran’s concession “a breakthrough agreement, significantly alleviating existing problems, including concerns about the possibility of advanced uranium enrichment to a weapons-grade level.”

Lavrov urged the international community “to adequately respond to the constructive progress made by Iran, including gradual suspension and lifting of sanctions, both unilateral and those introduced by the UN Security Council.”

The Russian foreign minister’s move ties in with two other developments – one at the two-day G8 summit ending Tuesday in Northern Ireland and the other in Tehran:

Michele Bachmann Attacks Edward Snowden: Calls Him A Traitor At NSA Hearing – 6/18/13

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkWr8DPvzU0#t=1s

From YouTube:

6/18/13 – Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) let it be known loud and clear which side of the “hero” vs. “traitor” debate she falls on when it comes to NSA leaker Edward Snowden. During her questions to NSA Director Gen. Keith Alexander at Tuesday’s House Intelligence Committee hearing, Bachmann called Snowden a “traitor” and urged the agency to figure out how the leaks were allowed to happen. “It seems to me that the problem here,” Bachmann said, “is of an individual who worked within the system, who broke laws, and who chose to declassify highly sensitive, classified information.” She wanted the NSA director to answer “how there could be a betrayal of trust and how a traitor could do something like this to the American people.” She said she wants the focus of the investigation to lie in “how we can prevent something like that from ever happening again.”

Bachmann asked Alexander “how damaging” Snowden’s leaks were to “the national security of the American people.” She also wanted to know if the information he leaked “has helped America’s enemies.”

Alexander called the damage caused by the leaks “irreversible and significant” and answered affirmatively that they have helped enemies of the United States. He said they will also “hurt us and our allies.”

ALERT: JP MORGAN INCREASES SLV HOLDINGS BY 500%!

The past few years of silver smashing has been all about letting JP Morgan extract themselves from that Silver short hot potato. That’s why the CFTC has not filed charges against them (yet) for silver manipulation. That’s why the banking cabal has sat on the price of silver this whole time. That’s why Citibank added $7.5B in OTC silver shorts. That’s why sentiment in the silver market has never been worse.
It’s all about extricating JP Morgan from the silver short position they were likely REQUIRED to take on by the US Treasury after the collapse of Bear Stearns.

So knowing what is happening it might not be surprising to you that during the 1st Quarter of 2013 JP Morgan has INCREASED their physical silver holdings in SLV for their own account by 500%!

Submitted by Bix Weir:

The numbers are clear in the reported data on SLV which must be recorded quarterly by the major institutional holders. Here’s the latest report showing JP Morgan holding 6,042,752 shares (ounces) increasing their holdings in SLV by 4,819,640 shares or 500%.

http://www.j3sg.com/Reports/Stock-Insider/generate-Institution.php?tickerLookUp=SLV&DV=yes

This report is cut off as of the end of the 1st quarter so when the second quarter is posted you can bet that this number has increased substantially. On a side note I’d like to point out that two other major cabal members shed massive amounts of shares in the same quarter: UBS selling (or transferring to JPM) 7,477,363 and Morgan Stanley shedding 1,186,347. Both are playing the opposite side of the trade to control the price as the cabal trades back and forth to each other.

I’m not saying that JP Morgan is completely out of their silver short but they may now be very, very close when you put all their various silver holdings together and net them out.

So WHERE IS THE SHORT NOW?!

Who Has Stayed Longer Than Wanted?

Ben Bernanke has now stated that he has stayed “longer than he wanted”. I agree with him and will extend this sentiment to the president Obama. As Obama’s poll numbers plummet, it appears that I am not alone in my opinion of this president’s regime.

David DeGerolamo

Obama Says Bernanke Has Stayed at Fed ‘Longer Than He Wanted’

President Barack Obama said Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke has stayed in his post “longer than he wanted,” one of the clearest signals the central bank chief will leave when his current term expires next year.

“Ben Bernanke’s done an outstanding job,” Obama said in an interview with Charlie Rose that aired yesterday, when asked about nominating him for another term subject to Senate approval. “He’s already stayed a lot longer than he wanted or he was supposed to.”

Whom Would You Trust: Ben Franklin or Barack Obama?

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

Our freedom and Liberty are slipping away. The NSA Prism program showed us two points:

1. The government acknowledges no individual right to privacy.

2. Whistle blowers are traitors to the regime.

Will the people fight for their freedom? Slipping poll numbers for the president will not stop these abuses by the government. As Obama argues below, it is a false choice to suggest that freedom must be sacrificed to achieve security. Pathetic. Ben Franklin told us the truth:

“Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”

― Benjamin Franklin

What else would you expect Obama to say to the people? The truth is that Obama has developed a massive database that not only invades our privacy illegally, it is being used to blackmail our Congressmen, military, intelligence agencies and Supreme Court Justices. And this will be in use after he leaves office under the guise of Organizing for Action. Just ask Maxine Waters.

We have a decision to make and not much time left. Will you surrender your freedom for Obama’s security?

David DeGerolamo

Obama doubles down on NSA defense as poll numbers slip

President Obama doubled down Monday on his defense of two National Security Agency spying programs that have damaged his approval ratings and distracted his presidency.

In an interview with PBS’s Charlie Rose, Obama argued it’s a “false choice” to suggest freedom must be sacrificed to achieve security, a phrasing that echoes comments he made on the campaign trail in 2008.

“To say there’s a tradeoff doesn’t mean somehow that we’ve abandoned freedom,” Obama said according to a transcript first published by Buzzfeed. The full interview will air later Monday.
