phone-records.jpgThe Obama Justice Department has seized the phone records of numbers that are associated with White House staffers and, apparently, with Fox News reporters, according to a document filed in the case of Stephen Jin-Woo Kim, on October 13, 2011. Kim is a former State Department contractor accused of violating the Espionage Act for allegedly leaking classified information to James Rosen, a Fox News reporter. Ronald C. Machen, Jr., the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, who is prosecuting the case, has seized records associated with two phone numbers at the White House, at least five numbers associated with Fox News, and one that has the same area code and exchange as Rosen’s personal-cell-phone number (the last four numbers are redacted).

In all, Ronald C. Machen, Jr., the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, has seized records associated with over thirty different phone numbers. In the filing that included the new information, the last four digits of each telephone line targeted by the Obama Administration are redacted. Two of the numbers begin with area code 202 and the exchange 456, which, according to current and former Administration officials, are used exclusively by the White House. (The phone number for the White House switchboard is (202) 456-1414.)

And since never is a little longer than 2016/2017, at some point in the next few years Bernanke will be the proud owner of all marketable Treasury paper. All of it.

Al-Qaeda’s Syrian wing takes over the oilfields once belonging to Assad

Al-Qaeda’s Syrian wing is helping to finance its activities by selling the product of oilfields that once helped to prop up the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

Up to 380,000 barrels of crude oil were previously produced by wells around the city of Raqqa and in the desert region to its east that are now in rebel hands – in particular Jabhat al-Nusra, the al-Qaeda off-shoot which is the strongest faction in this part of the country.

Now the violently anti-Western jihadist group, which has been steadily extending its control in the region, is selling the crude oil to local entrepreneurs, who use home-made refineries to produce low-grade petrol and other fuels for Syrians facing acute shortages.

Monsanto Declares a Sneaky Social Media War Against Protesters

One of the most powerful tools in the arsenal of the grass roots food freedom fight is social media. Google, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and many more networks allow people to instantly connect and provide a platform for information to be passed on exponentially. Facebook and Google are the two biggest websites in the entire world, and their reach is nearly unlimited.

Last week, the Monsanto Company made it very clear that they were under the gun via social media, and they went on the defense, weakly claiming that those who object with their toxic seeds and deadly farming methods were “elitist,” thereby attempting to undermine us as snobbish people who don’t see the big picture and who don’t care about world hunger.

This week, they’ve upped their game. Mysterious things have been occurring on the social networks: posts have disappeared, some posts are hidden from the timelines of readers, and trolls abound on pages promoting this weekend’s March Against Monsanto, happening worldwide on May 25.

We CAN NOT do this by ourselves! If you want NC to become the nation’s leader in illegal immigration, with the murder and mayhem that accompanies them, then sit back and let the Republicans in the NC House vote to approve HB786 – Reclaim NC Act (Licenses for illegals Act).

The bill passed this morning in the House Finance Committee with little opposition and now goes to the House Floor for a full vote. IF it passes the floor vote, it will then be transferred to the Senate for consideration. This is our LAST chance to fix or kill this bill, before it leaves the House of Representatives. Otherwise, NC will become THE place in the country, for an illegal alien to get a drivers license or a state issued ID card. Upon receiving one of these documents. they will immediately be conferred a quasi legal status, beyond the reach of State law enforcement.
We are being sold out for the almighty dollar. The House leadership thinks the way to win re-elections is to have the NC Chamber of Commerce, the NC Farm Bureau and the NC Travel and Tourism industry, contribute tons of cash for their re-election campaigns and to outspend the Democrats.
Let me just say one thing about that: The Republicans will LOSE future elections if they continue with their current ideology of outspending the opposition and catering to illegal aliens. They are loosing the LEGAL immigrant votes because of the special treatment they are showing to ILLEGAL immigrants and they are loosing the votes of their base because they no longer stand for their stated conservative values.

IRS’ Lois Lerner To Plead The Fifth Before House Oversight Committee

I think this is good news: Ms. Lerner might be after an immunity deal. If so, Congress might actually be able to clean up some of the tyranny in Washington, D.C.

For an affair that numerous media outlets will have you believe has been spun out of all proportion, and that it really is the conservatives fault that the IRS was targeting them, it is somewhat ironic that the IRS official who opened up the entire Pandora’s box with her targeted apology two weeks ago, and who learned in 2011 about the improper targeting of political groups yet lied under oath to Congress to the contrary, has decided to plead the Fifth and will invoke her right not to testify on Wednesday for fear of self-incrimination, according to her lawyer. But this would mean that… she may have something to hide? And that would be rather problematic for the media’s spin cycle, although we are confident it will take just a few minutes of deep though in the proper channels, before this all too overt admission of guilt is somehow spun as the IRS being the unwitting targets of an aggressive McCarthyesque campaign seeking to discredit the government’s impartial tax collector whose only noble purpose is to enable the government to get even bigger.

Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening — or why she didn’t disclose it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor III. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

“She has not committed any crime or made any misrepresentation but under the circumstances she has no choice but to take this course,” said a letter by Taylor to committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Vista). The letter, sent Monday, was obtained Tuesday by the Los Angeles Times.

New Guns Effectively Banned In California

California has effectively banned the sale of all new guns after Attorney General Kamala Harris officially certified a law that will require all new semiautomatic handguns to use technology that stamps identifying information on bullet casings. Since gun manufacturers are not likely to spend money retrofitting their entire production lines, California has effectively banned the sale of all new guns.

The law, which was initially signed back in 2007 by then governor Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, was delayed because of patents on the technology. On Friday, the Attorney General of California certified the law, becoming the first state in the country to require new guns use this stamping technology.

The “microstamping” act requires every new handgun produced or brought into the state of California to have a special firing pin that will stamp a serial number onto the primer of a round.

In reality, this technology will do nothing to prevent crime and will never be implemented, making the sale of all new guns into California illegal. In minutes a criminal could easily bypass this technology by filing the firing pin which would completely remove the stamp, rendering the technology completely useless. Despite this, California is pressing on with the new law.

Attorney General Harris was quoted saying “This very important technology will help us as law enforcement in identifying and locating people who improperly and illegally use and discharge firearms.”

That’s all nice and well, but who in their right mind believes a criminal is going to buy one of these self identifying weapons? What about the millions of illegal guns streaming over the Mexican border into California?

In my opinion, this is just another example of punishing law abiding gun owners and yet again infringing on our Second Amendment right to defend ourselves. Since the law does nothing to stop illegal guns, nothing to go after the criminal gangs who are selling them, and doesn’t prevent criminals from bypassing the technology, there is little doubt what this laws really about – one more step towards banning all guns.
