CNBC Announces Stock Market Highs

CNBC announced today that our stock markets are reaching new highs. Almost. The Dow Jones topped out on October 9, 2007 at 14,165.53 and closed today at 14,035.67. But why quibble over 130 points when Happy Days are here again?

Adjusted for inflation, the stock market high is 15,105.78 in 2013 dollars (from 2008 instead of 2007 since the high was near the end of 2007). But why quibble over 1650 points (11%)? Let’s consider gold in this same time frame (October 9, 2007). Gold was $732.60 / oz. on that date. Using an inflation calculator and 2008 again, the inflation adjustment for gold today would be $781.23. Gold closed down today at $1604.70 / oz. Even doubling the inflation adjusted cost of gold, today’s value would be $1562.46. So the value of gold adjusted for inflation more than doubled and the stock market is still down 11% in the same time frame.

But in the final analysis, the stock market is the measure of the health of our country. Even though gas has doubled, retail sales have collapsed and food has increased, our economy is on the mend. Just ask anyone buying lobster and steak at the grocery market with an EBT card.

Resolution to Protect the Privacy and Security of Law
Abiding Gun Owners in North Carolina 

Whereas, the people of this state have an inherent right to privacy; and

Whereas, the vast majority of gun owners are law-abiding citizens; and

Whereas, owning a firearm for the defense of one’s person, home, family and liberty is not the exercise of government privilege, but of God given right; and

Whereas, the public disclosure of gun owner’s personal information has resulted in slander as well as victimization by criminals; and

Whereas, the public disclosure of gun owner’s information also exposes an unarmed citizen to risk of victimization by being identified by as such; and

Whereas, law enforcement, detention staff and correction officers have become targets of threat and intimidation following the release of their personal information as gun owners and;

Whereas, 40 states and the District of Columbia have taken steps to make information concerning gun owners private, and only 10 states, including North Carolina, continue to treat gun owner information as a public record; and

Whereas, no public interest is served by the release of the personal information of private citizens that have committed no trespass of law; and

Therefore, the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners resolves, as representatives of the people, to defend the safety and privacy rights of lawful citizens. Furthermore the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners call upon the Governor and General Assembly of North Carolina to enact legislation protecting gun owners from undue and unwanted release of personal information by exempting said information from the public records laws.

A Resolution to Preserve and Defend the United
States Constitution and North Carolina Constitution

Whereas, county commissioners taking office solemnly swear that we will support the Constitution of the United States and

Whereas, county commissioners taking office also solemnly swear they will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the State of North Carolina and to the Constitutional Powers and Authorities which are or may be established for the government thereof; and also promise to endeavor to support, maintain and defend the Constitution of the said State, not inconsistent with the Constitution Of the United States, to the best of our knowledge and ability, 

Whereas, The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed;” and

Whereas, Article I, Sec. 30 in the NC Constitution states “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed;” and

Whereas, our rights are given by Our Creator and listed in the Constitution of the United States as a limit to government; and

Whereas, a “Militia” when properly formed, is in fact the people themselves … and includes … all citizens capable of bearing arms; and

Whereas, “…well regulated” means, that the militia, i.e. the people must be well equipped; and

Whereas, it being “…necessary to the security of a free State” means that the right of the people to bear arms was, and remains, the ultimate barrier to government tyranny; and

Whereas, the lawless are unaffected by prohibitions imposed upon law abiding citizens’ natural rights; and

Therefore, the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners resolve as representatives of the people to defend the 2nd Amendment and Article I, Sec. 30 of the North Carolina Constitution.

Assad’s troops retreat from Golan, leaving Islamist rebels to confront Israel

President Bashar Assad has evacuated most of the troops of his 5th Army Division from their permanent bases on the Golan opposite Israeli forces and transferred the unit along with its artillery to Damascus, DEBKAfile’s military sources report.

The Syrian ruler’s step had three purposes:

1. To reinforce his Damascus defenses;

2. To carve out a buffer zone along the Israeli border and leave it under rebel control.

3. To provide the jihadists fighting in rebel ranks with access to the Israeli border fence. Senior officers in the IDF’s northern command believe it is just a matter of time before these al Qaeda-associated fighters hurl themselves at the border fence to break through, or target Israeli military targets from across the Syrian border.

Guerrilla surveillance camera destruction hits the U.S.

It started in Berlin: Anarchists, donning black bloc attire, hit the streets at night in pairs, small groups or alone to smash and dismantle the CCTV surveillance cameras adorning the city streets.

They posted videos and photos of their exploits online and called the guerrilla project Camover. The German collective gave a playful interview to Vice U.K. in which they explained that they are “a diverse group of people: Shoplifters eluding capitalism who don’t want to be monitored, passengers who don’t want to followed step by step and anarchists fighting everything that wants to control us.” Vice noted that the Berlin-based anarchists then laid down the gauntlet:

Camover have also recently announced a competition encouraging others to get involved. All you have to do to enter is think of a name that begins with the words “Brigade…” or “Command…” and that ends with the name of a historical personality, recruit a mob and smash up cameras. Then you send pictures and video evidence to their website, and they declare the winning footage.

USDA/Mexican consulates to immigrants: Don’t worry, food stamps won’t affect citizenship chances

The United States Department of Agriculture has been working to dispel immigrants’ concerns that getting on Food Stamps will harm their chances of becoming U.S. citizens.

The USDA addresses those fears in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamp, brochures it distributes to Mexican consulates as part of its “partnership” with the Mexican government “to help educate eligible Mexican nationals living in the United States about available nutrition assistance.”

In one portion of the brochure, USDA’s text asks, “If I get on SNAP benefits, will I be a ‘public charge?’” The brochure then answers: “No. You and your family can apply for and receive SNAP benefits without hurting your chance of becoming U.S. citizens.”

The brochure further advises immigrants that members of their family could qualify for food stamps, even if they don’t.

“If you are not eligible due to your immigration status, your legal immigrant or citizen children may still qualify,” the brochure reads. ”You do not have to provide immigration information about yourself  when you apply for your legal immigrant or citizen children.”

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its second batch of emails from former administrator Lisa Jackson’s secret email address Friday, but the researcher who sued the agency to obtain the records says it improperly redacted nearly all of the information.

The emails, released in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), are from Jackson’s pseudonymous, secondary email account under the name “Richard Windsor.”

EPA officials heavily redacted Friday’s release, omitting all but the most mundane communications. Meeting schedules, discussions of media coverage, and nearly all other content was redacted.

Among the redacted information was an email from EPA General Counsel Scott Fulton to Jackson in which he inquired about the existence of turducken—a meat dish in which chicken is stuffed in a duck, which is then stuffed in a turkey.

“Separate and more important question: is there such a thing as a turduckin [sic] (a New Orleans dish)? Was [REDACTED] and they mentioned this. Not sure if they were pulling my leg.”

Colorado House passes gun-control measures

Limits on the size of ammunition magazines and universal background checks passed the Colorado House on Monday, during a second day of emotional debates that has drawn attention from the White House as lawmakers try to address recent mass shootings.

The bills were among four that the Democratic-controlled House passed amid strong resistance from Republicans, who were joined by a few Democrats to make some of the votes close.

The proposed ammunition restrictions limit magazines to 15 rounds for firearms, and eight for shotguns. Three Democrats joined all Republicans voting no on the bill, but the proposal passed 34-31.

“Enough is enough. I’m sick and tired of bloodshed,” said Democrat Rep. Rhonda Fields, a sponsor of the bill and representative of the district where the shootings at an Aurora theater happened last summer. Fields’ son was also fatally shot in 2005.

In an agreement between al-Qaida and the Islamic regime, three camps have been set up within Iran to train terrorists, WND has learned.

Al-Qaida members are trained to attack NATO forces in Afghanistan and collaborate with the Islamic regime on terrorist activities against Israel, the United States and some European countries, according to a source within the Revolutionary Guards intelligence division.

The camps are in the Sistan and Baluchestan provinces of Iran bordering Pakistan, where the al-Qaida members are trained in terrorism and guerrilla-warfare tactics.

The al-Qaida members, under the pretext of conducting commerce, enter Iran through local bazaars along the Pakistani-Iranian border, the source said. After completing the course, each al-Qaida member is paid the equivalent of $12,000 in appreciation of their participation and further collaboration with the regime’s Quds Forces.

If the economy is improving, then why are many of the largest retail chains in America closing hundreds of stores?  When I was growing up, Sears, J.C. Penney, Best Buy and RadioShack were all considered to be unstoppable retail powerhouses.  But now it is being projected that all of them will close hundreds of stores before the end of 2013.  Even Wal-Mart is running into problems.  A recent internal Wal-Mart memo that was leaked to Bloomberg described February sales as a “total disaster”.  So why is this happening?  Why are major retail chains all over America collapsing?  Is the “retail apocalypse” upon us?  Well, the truth is that this is just another sign that the U.S. economy is falling apart right in front of our eyes.  Incomes are declining, taxes are going up, government dependence is at an all-time high, and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the percentage of the U.S. labor force that is employed has been steadily falling since 2006.  The top 10% of all income earners in the U.S. are still doing very well, but most U.S. consumers are either flat broke or are drowning in debt.  The large disposable incomes that the big retail chains have depended upon in the past simply are not there anymore.  So retail chains all over the United States are now closing up unprofitable stores.  This is especially true in low income areas.

When you step back and take a look at the bigger picture, the rapid decline of some of our largest retail chains really is stunning.

It is happening already in some areas, but soon half empty malls and boarded up storefronts will litter the landscapes of cities all over America.

That $85 billion is irrelevant.  It is chump change.  It’s insignificant.  We are headed for an utter, total collapse.  We’re gonna have to cut trillions of dollars.  We are $17 trillion in debt, and it’s gonna be $22 trillion by the time Obama leaves office in 2016, and there’s no end in sight for this.  The federal government currently spends $10.5 billion dollars a day.  We’re talking about less than ten days’ worth of spending!  One week! One week of government spending we’re talking about being cut, and with one week’s worth of cuts, all of this apocalypse is gonna happen? As usual, you’re being lied to and extreme’d to death, pummeled, and beaten up. They’re not even letting you up to breathe, you are being so immersed in this stuff.
