What Happened?

NCRenegade.com was down yesterday for an as yet unknown reason. If you used https://ncrenegade.com, there was no issue. If you used http://ncrenegade.com, the site’s DNS would not resolve. The service provided “fixed” the issue late last night.

There were some other issues but I will not go into them now.

Disney Has Lost $34 Billion In Value Since Embarking On Culture War With Florida

Florida lawmakers in March passed HB 1557, dubbed by opponents as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which was signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis on March 28.

That same day, Disney waded deeply into the controversy, issuing a statement highly critical of HB 1557 and saying it was the company’s objective to have it repealed.

From March 28, the day the company issued the statement, to April 22, Disney’s market cap has fallen by around $33.9 billion.

Backers of the legislation say it gives parents more power around deciding how and when topics relating to LGBTQ issues can be introduced to their children. It also gives parents the opportunity to sue school districts for violations of the rules set out in the legislation.

Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards,” the bill (pdf) reads.

DeSantis said on March 28, the day he signed the bill, that “parents have every right to be informed about services offered to their child at school, and should be protected from schools using classroom instruction to sexualize their kids as young as 5 years old.”

Multipolar Chaos, by Robert Gore

chaos-engineering

The Russian Central Bank recently announced that until the end of June, it stands ready to buy gold for rubles at the exchange rate of 5000 rubles per gram of gold. The move has been hailed as revolutionary, heralding a regime change from fiat currencies. If only that were true.

It would be revolutionary if the Russian Central Bank made a two-way market in rubles and gold. Sellers of gold to the central bank will get back rubles, but no one can exchange rubles for gold. The ruble will still be a fiat currency. A central bank or government that sold gold for its own currency at a fixed rate would be returning to the gold-exchange standard, which prevailed in many nations during much of the 1800s and early 1900s. Right now, such a move would be so revolutionary it would upend the global financial order.

A reminder: Government and Central Bank-Led Revolutions is a book whose thickness is measured in nanometers. Traditionally, revolutions are directed against them. Under a gold-exchange standard, you don’t need a central bank, which is why monetary bureaucrats hate it. You need a gold repository and someone to print the gold-backed currency. Politicians hate it because they can’t spend currency they and their central-bank flunkies have wished into existence. If they had to spend real money—gold or silver—it would be bye-bye welfare and warfare states, and they would be the inconsequential hacks they’re supposed to be.

Ilhan Omar Visits Disputed Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Prompting Angry Response From India

Ilhan Omar Visits Disputed Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Prompting Angry Response From India 1

India’s Ministry of External Affairs slammed Rep. Ilhan Omar’s visit to Pakistan this week, labeling it “condemnable.”

“We have noted that she has visited a part of Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir that is currently illegally occupied by Pakistan,” ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said of the Minnesota Democrat during a Wednesday press conference. “Let me just say that if such a politician wishes to practice her narrow-minded politics at home … that may be her business.”

“But violating our territorial integrity and sovereignty in its pursuit makes it ours,” he continued. “And we think this visit is condemnable.”

IMF Warns Of Civil Unrest Amid Global Food Crisis

IMF Warns Of Civil Unrest Amid Global Food Crisis 1

Following previous warnings of starvation and “Hell on Earth” migrant crises due to a lack of food, the international finance body has forecast that global growth will be harmed, with poorer countries bearing the brunt of the crisis.

According to a post on the organization’s website, a combination of rising inflation and supply issues will significantly reduce global economic growth, with weak economies bearing the brunt of the damage.

“This crisis unfolds even as the global economy has not yet fully recovered from the pandemic,” writes Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas, director of the group’s research department.

“IF YOU THINK WE’VE GOT HELL ON EARTH NOW, YOU JUST GET READY,” SAID THE WORLD FOOD BANK EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. “IF WE NEGLECT NORTHERN AFRICA, NORTHERN AFRICA’S COMING TO EUROPE. IF WE NEGLECT THE MIDDLE EAST, [THE] MIDDLE EAST IS COMING TO EUROPE.” HTTPS://T.CO/Q32O4TP8IG

The IMF is far from the first international organisation to warn about rising food prices as a result of global supply constraints, with one UN official even declaring last month that if additional funding are not granted to aid agencies, a “Hell on Earth” migrant crisis could emerge from the third world.

Rest assured Simplicius76, it was an oversight on my part but it will not happen again. I will make sure that any video without an embedded source will have the attribute added. You do not have to worry about yours in the future as you will not be sourced again on this site.
