At least twice the Governor states that he did not authorize the seizure of firearms and that has not happened. He further states that he has no authority to authorize the Virgin Islands Natl Gd to seize firearms from citizens. He even states that to do so would be unconstitutional.

He did state that the wording authorizes the Adjutant General (Commander of the V.I. Natl Gd) to obtain on the open market such firearms and ammo as they might need to keep the peace if they are short of those items. The Governor’s order is clearly ambiguous and should be re-worded to indicate the full import of the Governor’s intentions.
