Joe Paterno was fired from Penn State for choosing personal gain over morality. This is a classic case of Good vs. Evil and the consequences felt in Happy Valley will not be short-lived. How did the students react after the Board of Trustees acted to correct this coverup?
For the past three years, I have been working on one goal: to give our children a future grounded in morality and freedom. This story from Penn State epitomizes this fight.
Monetary considerations were more important than the safety of children. The course of action taken by the university’s top officials to preserve a football legacy shows us a side of the academic world that is prevalent across the country. High salaries with no oversight breeds the arrogance that we see in what will become the classic example of a failed university system.
My first day at Penn State required that I attend a meeting of my particular college with the department head. His words did not inspire me and proved to be true.
We [the professors] are not here to teach you. We are here to do research. As such, you must understand that if you need help in your classes, we may not have time for you.
Publish or perish is the rule at all universities: it is not about teaching higher education, it is about money from the government to pay their salaries. The love of money is the root of all evil has once again proved to be true at the expense of our children.
The video above is a direct reflection on our society: football is more important than morality. These students rioting over a decision to start healing the university should never be forgotten. It was not Joe Paterno that raised these children with no moral foundation but us.
The “ends justifying the means” is well known at Penn State. The book “Catch 22” is based on Penn State. Michael Mann of the now infamous “hockey stick” global warming scandal was from Penn State. Absolute power does corrupt absolutely and we should all pray that we all learn and act accordingly from this example of evil.
