Waste disposal (as in septic system) ?? -- NOT CHECKED --
Even having many gallons of non-drinkable water (like from a pool or ditch) to use to make your toilet work will give you waste disposal for just a few days if the power goes out.
Sewage pumps only work as long as the power is on or fuel exists in back-up power suppliers.
Just because your home’s sewage uses gravity to flow away from your home does not mean you have a longtime before your sewer backs up from blockages further down the line.
Gravity flow usually goes only so far and then sewage pumps are needed to get the sewage to the treatment plant. So if the pumps stop working, in a very short time the system backs up…..which could be right back into your house !!
Do you know how to un-cap your home’s sewer clean-out so your neighbor’s sewage flows out onto your yard/drive INSTEAD OF INTO YOUR HOME ??
Many have no understanding of how municipal water and sewer systems work, or how they are dependent on electricity to function.
You ain’t even close to being prepared if you have not worked out how you are going to deal with sewage and waste disposal…….

Hahhahahaa, watching those housing developments that have sewage pumps in the back corner of the 12-block neighborhood overflow is going to be epic. One reason I have septic and a well!

and when the last can of gas is empty and the last can of beans has been opened??? then what???
you are prepared for a short term inconvenience. think long term, and prepare for that, and the short term stuff will work itself out.

Word. Read or re-read ALAS, BABYLON by Pat Frank. It is dated but still very relevant.
