Raleigh City Council Opposes the 2nd Amendment

The Raleigh City Council unanimously voted to oppose HB 111. Although this legislation has passed the House and is now stalled in committee in the Senate, public officials always seek to extend their power for their own recognition. I would put $100 down that not one of these councilmen would want through a City of Raleigh park after dark.

Hat tip to GRNC.

Here is the statement from the City of Raleigh:

City Council Opposes Concealed Handgun Bill The Raleigh City Council on April 19 voted 7-0 to approve a resolution opposing provisions of a concealed handgun bill before the North Carolina General Assembly. The proposed legislation would allow people with concealed permits to carry their handguns into public parks and restaurants that serve alcohol. The bill has been approved by the House and is now in the Senate. For more information, contact City Attorney Thomas McCormick at 919-831-6560.

Remind the Raleigh councilmen, they are not the only city in this State. The law allows its citizens to carry concealed weapons, why not into a park at night or whenever, also into a bar or restaurant serving liquor?
