Thank you. Will pass on.
This is essential information! Keep up the good work.
I would not rely on city water, as it is dependent on the grid which is likely to fail in a large scale attack.
When I was carrying water to my home stead, after my new well was dry, I brought home about fifteen gallons a day for the wife and I. When camping with kids about the same for drinking, but we had creek water. If you are in a fallout zone plan on a couple of weeks of active fallout, so you will likely need several hundred gallons! You don’t want to go out side during fallout, to get water!
Food in cans that has been irradiated, is safe if the cans are washed.
Get a giger counter now, they are cheap these days.
Fore heavins sake get Kearneys book on nuclear war survival skills!
Finally you need iodine tablets for all younger people!
As no one really wants the fallout from a large scale war, I think an EMP attack or select targets is more likely.
If Putin gets tired of jacking with us, I would expect an EMP at any time!
I am usually wrong, but it never hurts to prepare for the worst and pray for the best!
Any suggestions on how many times a setup can be used? How bout disposal suggestions? And many thanks for this idea.
At first I didn’t think this could go nuclear. And it may not. But the Western “leaders” are corrupt and out of touch. They’re used to getting things their way all the time. They have egos. One mistake and I think it’s not out of the question that Russia may fire a tactical nuke warning shot on a European target. If that doesn’t get the desired response from the West, then it could go full nuke. Can you believe we have to say things like this? Nobody in the world has control over their own governments. Democracy and representative governments are an illusion. We are all governed by criminals. They’re quarreling among themselves over the world’s riches. It’s got nothing to do with freedom. If we get nuked, those who survive have to hunt down the politicians and hang them. Or worse. Good time to be in Paraguay.
Catherine, each time the filter is used the fall out will stay in the medium, making it radioactive! Keep the used filter away from humans, or replace the medium each time it is used. Generally the more a filter is used, the better it works.
If you have a big Berkey, and you should, I would save it for bacterial contamination.
Remember radiation decays over time, so eventually all will be safe.
Do get a giger counter, it is the only way to be sure about radiation levels.
