Rep. Jim Jordan: ‘Definitely’ Looking at Possibility of Impeaching IRS Commissioner

Rep. Jim Jordan / AP

Rep. Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) said that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is “definitely” looking at the possibility of impeaching IRS Commissioner John Koskinen in an interview with theWashington Free Beacon on Thursday.

“We are definitely looking at that,” Jordan said. “Definitely looking at that. I’ll say this, Mr. Koskinen has on more than one occasion come in front of the committee and conveyed information to the committee that later turned out not to be accurate.”

On June 25, 2015, the committee held a hearing on the 2013 IRS scandal and found that despite a subpoena and a preservation order, the IRS, under Koskinen’s control, had destroyed or degaussed 422 tapes that might have contained emails from Lois Lerner, the former official at the center of the controversy. Around this time, a National Review article revealed that Republican leaders were considering possibilities to impeach Koskinen.

Jordan said that impeachment is a possibility for the IRS commissioner.

Another “sham investigation” that goes nowhere. As with the rest, beginning with the “Fast n Furious”, nothing, regarding an actual trial or conviction have come about. I have little to no confidence that anyone will ever see the inside of a jail cell for ANY of the scandals.

If it were any lay-person, instead of these over-paid, elitist and crooked politicians, the jail cell keys would have been thrown away a long time ago.

I truly hope they can prove me wrong but I won’t hold my breath.

And Benghazi’s Hilda-Beast and Louis Lerner’s IRS, the EPA, the BLM, the “acting” president’s border patrol “stand-down” orders and the list goes on, forever.
I have yet to see any of them in “bracelets” or hauled off to jail.

I read the other comments and the truth is, there is nothing left to say. We live in a tyranny and no investigation will yield any result. I think we are all in agreement and are waiting for our “Trigger” event.

“I think we are all in agreement and are waiting for our “Trigger” event.”

You’re right. A “trigger event” is what I’ve been looking for. Every newscast, every “event”, is something to watch. Whether it’s mundane or major, it has to be carefully scrutinized as it only takes something minor, like the Ferguson debacle, which was minor until the feds and Al “Sharptongue”got involved or the BLM’s heavy-handedness against grazing cattle, that takes us over the edge.

Baltimore was another fine example of the government’s fascist endeavors to provoke unrest and divisiveness. That mayor is still holding office and walking the streets and it’s sickening. Where’s the outcry?

Men of good will are predisposed to suffer a great deal of injustice by way of our patience; but when we reach then end of our tolerance, then the thirst for Justice shall be poured forth upon those who opress with casual impunity, and their deeds shall be repaid in full.

What comes is now inevitable. There is no escape, neither for the opressed nor the opressors; We shall all face our fate, together. And there shall be much wailing and gnashing of teeth…

Even so, come quickly, Lord.
