Seems to me that the police need to learn the real law not just some they make up as they go along. I also watched some of the other videos after this one and have come to the conclusion that the police think they are exempt from “abiding” by the laws they swore to enforce. What ever happen “to PROTECT and SERVE”? The police should stop taking the steroids and wake up. Who ever trains them brains them………

I do not see anything the police did wrong but I do see a lot Mr. Call did wrong. He is just another idiot who wanted to get on a video for “exercising his 2A rights.”
1. If a business or property owner doesn’t want you carrying a gun on their property, it is their RIGHT to ask you to leave or call the police and ask them to have you leave.
2. Every police officer in the entire universe is going to fully check you out under these circumstances and if they can find a reason, is going to arrest you just because you are a dumb
ass.
3. If you are a CCW permit holder you are REQUIRED BY LAW to have your permit and ID on you
when carrying a gun in public and display them to any officer who approaches you.
For every RIGHT there is a corresponding RESPONSIBILITY. That is why irresponsible people lose rights.
You guys doing this are doing nothing but supporting the leftist agenda by going out baiting police and exercising you second amendment rights. Why don’t you try exercising your brains instead?

Your point about ID is spot on, that was stupid, but if open carry is a legal right, then you should be able to carry and police should have to respect that. Otherwise, open carry, as a right, doesn’t exist. Private property should have to be posted “no firearms”, which I believe is the case in NC, in order to prevent people from legally carrying.

I see stores with “no firearms” signs a lot, what would be the penalty for ignoring them?

Business and property owners are not required to post anything. Gun owners are required to obey a posted sign. At any time and for any or no reason, a property owner may say “OK I want you to leave my property.” Its that simple. You do not have a Constitutional right to carry a firearm onto a business or private property if the owner or manager
says you cannot, sign or no sign.

In the no sign scenario, should the owner immediately call the police without first telling me personally? How else would I know? How should the responding officers act?

Regarding the video, why were they asking him where he worked?

Agreed.
I worry that many open carry “advocates” are causing more problems than they think they are fixing. If you are going to open carry fine but don’t be a smart butt when someone doesn’t like it.

Agree, the gent should of showed his ID and it would of been all cleared, all he did was give himself a ticket for obstruction.
