A divided Federal Communications Commission Thursday approved the so-called “net neutrality” plan that critics warn will impose broad new regulations on Americans’ activities on the Internet.
The commissioners approved the plan by a party-line vote of 3-2, with majority Democrats moving ahead with the historic proposal to reclassify broadband as a utility, giving the commission more regulatory power over Internet providers.
“The Internet is simply too important to allow broadband providers to be the ones making the rules,” said FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler. “The action we take today is about the protection of Internet openness. Today is a red-letter day for Internet freedom.”

It appears that your pResident has pulled a hat trick today with executive orders and regulatory tyranny: 2nd amendment, immigration and now the Internet.
