Stanford University released a guide this week on “harmful” language that it wants to remove from its online properties — noting that the term “American” is a no-go.
The language guide, which was published Monday, aims to “eliminate many forms of harmful language, including racist, violent, and biased … language in Stanford websites and code.”
Launched in May, the project, known as the Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative (EHLI), lists the prohibited terms under 10 categories including racism, homophobia and ableism.
Under a section titled “Imprecise Language,” the guide advises readers to replace the term “American” with “U.S. citizen.”
“[‘American’] often refers to people from the United States only, thereby insinuating that the US is the most important country in the Americas,” the packet reasons, noting that the region actually includes 42 countries between North and South America.
Screw stanford and all the libtards that darken the halls of the shit hole.
I find Stanford to be an offensive word, but I doubt they’ll see it that way.
They are always right (even if they’re not)
You are always wrong (even if you’re not)
That’s liberal hubris in a nutshell
Control language and you control thought.
These people can go straight to hell with no delay.
Organized in 1891, The Stanford University’s seal bore the motto, “Die luft der freiheit weht,” or translated, “The wind of freedom blows.”
I believe the motto should now be updated to read, “Where the wind of fascism blows.”
The term “U.S. citizen” is more repugnant than the label of “American” because it’s more statist. However the word “American” generally means someone within the territorial boundaries of the continental U.S. typically living in a hyperindividualist framework, largely lacking the greater social connectivity that is even present in Third World countries (even though there is plenty of ‘society’, or perhaps busyness). On a number of levels, it’s gladdening that the multitude of states are so divided, being that it can’t stand and it signals that it’s time to get to the next phase; balkanization, which seems to be a positive, forward momentum for economic and work prospects, among other fundamentals.
We have territorial boundaries? Not anymore! Look at our open borders.
[I agree with the concept of Balkanization. I believe, going forward, that it will result in the least amount of violence possible when the U.S. inevitably fractures].
That phrase was used in lieu of not having a distinct American culture. However, even when the country was more homogenous it was still rather structurally vacant (artificial class constructs).
cut all federal funding, and any one or company that supports the school, boycott the products and services! Keep going woke, we’ll make you go broke!
He who controls the lexicon, controls the debate. Until you punch them in the face.
