This is not an exaggeration. I was there early on. I saw the poppy fields, some just 1,000 meters from the main base at Kandahar Airport. I was supposed to be on a mission on the Pakistani border to destroy marijuana and poppy fields near a SF FOB. It got canceled the night before. Guess who…
