North Carolina Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper says the Republican-controlled legislature is again trampling on his authority, this time through the state budget that lawmakers passed this summer.

It appears to me that former Gov. McCrory is a fine example of what happens when the GOP runs a candidate who, once elected, stabs his supporters in the back. It would be prudent for some of the others in the GOP, Tillis? Burr?, to keep his fate in mind while we still have our backs turned.
