A shocking new survey has found that support for capitalism is dying in America. In fact, more than half of all adults in the United States under the age of 30 say that they do not support capitalism at this point. You might be tempted to dismiss them as “foolish young people”, but the truth is that they are the future of America. As older generations die off, they will eventually become the leaders of this country. And of course our nation has not resembled anything close to a capitalist society for quite some time now. In a recent article, I listed 97 different taxes that Americans pay each year, and some Americans actually end up returning more than half of what they earn to the government by the time it is all said and done. So at best it could be said that we are running some sort of hybrid system that isn’t as far down the road toward full-blown socialism as most European nations are. But without a doubt we are moving in that direction, and our young people are going to be cheering every step of the way.
When I first heard of this new survey from Harvard University, I was absolutely stunned. The following is from what the Washington Post had to say about it…
The Harvard University survey, which polled young adults between ages 18 and 29, found that 51 percent of respondents do not support capitalism. Just 42 percent said they support it.
It isn’t clear that the young people in the poll would prefer some alternative system, though. Just 33 percent said they supported socialism. The survey had a margin of error of 2.4 percentage points.
Could it be possible that young adults were confused by the wording of the survey?
Personally I am amazed it has taken this long considering the 10 Commandments and prayer we illegally banned from public schools roughly 5 decades ago. That coupled with nearly 8 hours of tense indoctrination in public schools and the majority of the rest of our kids time being exposed to what can only be considered propoganda leaves one wondering why they are even remotely amainable to capitalism and limited government.
Of course as we age and the country continues to be flooded with third world groups who even after several generations vote for socialist candidates and programs will mean the few of our children who prefer capitalism and liberty shall be ruled by others with whom they share little historical, cultural, religious, or genetic bonds. Of course this has been attempted in other countries and the results were what an kindly be referred to as unattractive but I see little will among the people to deboard the train of disaster as it hurtles along towards their demise,
We need and must find alternatives to avoid their shared fate.
Joe nailed it; it’s not that the respondents didn’t understand the question, it’s that they don’t understand the choices available to them. And sadly, this misapprehension of their options (and the implications of same) have been systematically misrepresented to all students at the compulsory public indoctrination centers -- A.K.A. ‘Public Schools’ -- for the last 50+ years as Joe states.
That’s the “Cultural” element of “Cultural Marxism”… to accomplish a “social revolution’ over a period of generations through the use of intense propaganda and “peaceful” social conditioning, rather than executing a bloody revolution in a single generation.
WE HAVE BEEN WARNED
“U.S. Adults Under Age 30” … aren’t actually ‘adults’, at all.
Their upbringing has been so limited, they have few of the tools, and little of the knowledge required to act in adult fashion.
