The Problem of a Convention of States

Bill Whittle makes excellent points in the above video. If you are not sure about this issue, do a little research on the origin of the Constitutional Convention.

We do not need a Convention of States. We need to follow the rule of law as intended for a country based on Liberty overseen by the people not the personal gratification of traitors who have sold the country for 30 pieces of silver.

I have a simple question. Why should we expect people who ignore the Constitution to adhere to a revised Constitution? The only thing a C of S will accomplish is the opportunity for bad actors to change the Constitution in ways we may not approve. Another question. If we can’t be confident that we can legitimately elect office holders, how can we be confident those elected for a C of S would be loyal to the vision of our Founders?

Amen Malachi! If we need a CS then do it after we start following the Constitution, Bill of Rights & Rule of law. You hit the nail squarely on the head.
It sounds like a CS will be an end run around the Constitution & Bill of Rights by the elites. This is the very last thing we need.

Exactly.
It would be a lot easier and just as effective if we passed a law saying politicians have to follow the law.

Yep, when in modern history has a nation that lost its freedom to a communist revolution or coup, regained that freedom by voting or peaceful means or as they suggest a convention of states?

Malachi you are 100% correct. I think a Constitutional Convention would be undermined by the “World Order” types and we would loose our basic freedoms

The left wants a convention of states. They will hijack it just like the elections and repeal the second amendment and greatly limit the first. And that’s likely just for starters. There is nothing at all wrong with the current Constitution assuming we actually followed it. And we should go back to senators being appointed by state legislature. Not elected.

I agree, I say we follow the Constitution. If not I say we carve out a New Republic.

We started out with the Constitution and ended up here. How does going back to the Constitution stop it from coming back to the point we are now at, this time much quicker due to demographic change and entrenched money interests?

The only reason we are were we are today is because we did not do our duty under Article I Section 8 clause 15. The only way to stop it in the future is to raise men that understand liberty and are willing to fight to defend it. The rest can leave. Of course that was Samuel Adam’s feeling.

Agree. We are here because we allowed communists to take over most all learning institutions, the library, the “free” press, most politics at all levels down to county commissioners level. The least corrupted institution I see may be county sheriffs in small communities. I don’t think voting harder is going to work. I don’t think passive resistance will work. The reason some want a convention of states is that they are grasping at anything to avoid open conflict.
Start now. Today. take over local politics. If you belong to a church that supports masks and lockdowns , oppose it. Vocally. Absolutely. If you don’t go to church find one. If they are liberal pansies find another one.
The Republic needs cores of solid Patriots. They have to be bedrock locals that others can rally around. Be careful of imposters and trouble makers and crazies.
Turn off your television. Cut off your cable. It is all filth and propaganda. Go fishing. Hike. Take baked goods to your neighbors. Show your children how to help your elderly community members. Form trusting bonds with like minded folks. Time is short. Do it now.

That makes no sense. The same people that aren’t taking the actions you imply would still be here when the new and improved Constitution took effect. What do you plan to do, add in “no really for realz this time, double pinky swear!”

People ignoring words on paper is not going to be changed by putting more and different words on paper.

I understood it to be more fantasizing and chest-thumping on your part. You people aren’t going to do anything now or with a New and Improved! Constitution so you are trying to imply that the only reason nothing happens is because everyone else is a coward and that if only they’d leave you totally go Rambo on these commies. Which you still wouldn’t, but you people need your fantasies.

Right now “they” control most levers of government. I don’t see what you otherwise think we can do? Deport them? We have try to coexist as best we can. But allowing communists to control most of our society can be changed bid we step up and take charge of things. That may not be doable. I see the point that this failed before. Maybe we will just have a national divorce of some sort. Maybe we will become Sarajevo. God help us if we do.

A national divorce is the best solution, but as CW1 showed we are hardly a ‘no fault divorce’ nation. I think our best hope is to get local and state power in flyover country, then use that to fend off federal overreach by any means necessary.

Once we regain our freedom put forward one new amendment, any law, treaty or legislation must adhere strictly to constitutional guidelines, period.

Whatever we do the New Constitution will contain laws removing acceptance of Bribes-Contributions, no longer will Dual-Citizenship be allowed, inability to Lobby or become a Lobbyist after term of service as a Representative and most importantly…Term Limits and Balanced Budget Requirements!

Heed and Listen up. Here you will find all you need to know about a Convention of States and it’s pitfalls. This Is the worst possible path we could possibly follow. If any semblance of this should be passed into law. You will fond yourselves living in 1900’s Lenin/Stalinist Russia. You WILL BE SLAVES subject to the globalists every whim. Wake Up America. If any of your local/county/state/or feral representatives proclaim this is the way to the future, it’s inevitable, Get Rid Of The SOB as fast as possible. I’m really sick of warning people of this, You cannot hear if you refuse to listen. You cannot listen if you think you know it all, only to find the only sound you hear is the chains you put upon your legs rattle.

I will NEVER live under a Constitution other than the one we now have.

All anyone need do is read Matt Bracken. Call a CoS, and watch it get hijacked in a matter of days, if not hours. It will be used as a wedge to upend any remaining protections (haha) we now enjoy.
The idea terrifies me, and I don’t scare easily.

There is nothing wrong with the Constitution as written. It merely needs to be followed correctly. The risk of a Convention is simple. The commie left will infiltrate it, subvert it and use it to GUT what little protections the current document contains. So NO! We do NOT need such a convention.

Done.

The first step is to abolish all laws permitting politicians leeway to skirt the law. Take away all special priviledges. Arrest them for breaking the law if they persist.
Publius Hulday has an excellent summary of why a Convention of States is a very very bad thing. It’s a globalists wet dream.
