TSA making US a police state
The out-of-control Transportation Security Administration is past patdowns at airports – now it’s checkpoints and roadblocks.
This callous disregard for travelers’ rights merely paraphrases the words of Homeland Security director Janet Napolitano, who shares, with the president, ultimate responsibility for all TSA travesties since 2009. In November 2010, with the groping policy only a few weeks old, Napolitano dismissed complaints by saying “people [who] want to travel by some other means” have that right. (In other words: if you don’t like it, don’t fly.)
But now TSA is invading travel by other means, too. No surprise, really: as soon as she established groping in airports, Napolitano expressed her desire to expand TSA jurisdiction over all forms of mass transit. In the past year, TSA’s snakelike VIPR (Visual Intermodal Prevention and Response) teams have been slithering into more and more bus and train stations – and even running checkpoints on highways – never in response to actual threats, but apparently more in an attempt to live up to the inspirational motto displayed at the TSA’s air marshal training center since the agency’s inception: “Dominate. Intimidate. Control.”

Well, I will not be dominated, intimidated, or controlled. Nor will I be deterred from my inalienable right to travel freely. That road leads only down… if tolerated, it eventually leads to suffering invasion of privacy and loss of Liberty, even in one’s own home.
I will resist, and that resistance will grow more forceful over time. I will not be alone, because many believe as I do – that Liberty is a Blessing from God, not a dispensation from government; and we will not be silenced in that belief. We will prevail, because if we do not, then we will have failed our children, and all who come after them. This war will be a personal one. It will be personal because they have made it so; their violent invasion of our personal rights, and the casual destruction of Liberty they have inflicted upon every American make it personal. Because of these facts, nothing is off the table, folks. NOTHING.

~ Those who discard Liberty, do so at their own peril!
Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of it. The history of liberty is a history of resistance. ~Woodrow Wilson
The web page I got this quote off of has a o’bama add on it oddly enough. What else will the o’bama administration try to be pull on us? When will it go far enough? I’m for the 3 for the fight.
Please don’t quote Wilson regarding Liberty. Anything related to Woodrow Wilson is suspect … he was statist and anti-liberty.
Read history and follow the breadcrumbs … consolidation of power, central planning and control: A.Hamilton, A.Lincoln, T.Roosevelt, W.Wilson, F.D.Roosevelt, L.Johnson, … need any more examples ?
Are you surprised to see an Obambi ad in such company ? I’m not.
Argh…pirate all ;P Seriously, I absolutely agree with Hans, here. You’ve got to check the context of ‘historic quotes’ very carefully. When young, I thought Teddy Rosevelt was a hero, because I had read a few of his speeches and was impressed. Then I discovered that he was, up to his time, probably the most glaring of the two-faced, statist bastards to inhabit the white house. Then, of course, we got Wilson, and then FDR, and all bets were off on that title for another 60 years. Now, Bush and Obama have cornered the market, each doing far more than _all_ past presidents in terms of destroying Liberty.

So, I supposed we need a protocol on how we should respond to VIPR checkpoints on the road…any suggestions?
