I would think the only reason is because they can. Tyrants get off on that type of thing; random decrees to increase suffering and humiliation.

Just like electric cars, it’s all about control, they can turn off the electricity anytime they want, and on a house by house basis, if you say or do or buy something they don’t like

Just like gun control, the creep of official decrees means that, sooner or later, we will all be criminals or serfs

They’ve banned wood burning fireplaces in some areas and there’s been talk about banning gas fireplaces for a while. They say for the health of some. Like peanuts on a plane.
It’s control and financial/physical threat if you don’t comply.

Look up the IJER, see who is on the editorial board. Most are from Iran, whom the fedgov claims is terrible. So now we listen to them on stoves?

Bug burgers come precooked, just pop them in your authorized electric warming device, (if you have enough carbon credits saved up) otherwise cold bugs for you. Really with the price and unavailability of food, how much cooking do we think we will be doing anyway?
