“Assault Weapons” Must be Stored in Govt. Approved Facility

Massachusetts State Rep. David P. Linsky and Barack Obama

Massachusetts State Representative David Linsky has filed a new bill that would force gun owners to undergo mental health background checks, pay an additional 25% tax on all forms of ammunition, and require firearms categorized as “assault weapons” to be stored outside of their homes at government approved sites.

Natick Patch reported, via Black Listed News:

“This bill is a comprehensive effort to reduce all types of gun violence – murders, intentional shootings, accidental shootings and suicides.  There is not one solution to reducing gun violence – we can’t eliminate it – but there are a lot of common-sense steps that we can take to significantly reduce the everyday tragedy of gun violence and deaths,” said Linsky…

…“I have spoken with hundreds of people over the past few weeks in developing this legislation – victims, police officers, criminologists, physicians, and yes – gun owners and sportsmen,” stated Linsky. “There are a lot of good ideas out there. We should all have one goal – reducing gun violence and trying to keep more tragedies from happening.”

Provisions in the bill include:

  • Having one standard of the issuance of all gun licenses, giving local police chiefs the ability to evaluate all aspects of an application for a gun license.
  • Requires proof of liability insurance for possession of a firearm, rifle or shotgun.
  • Requires that all large capacity weapons and grandfathered assault weapons must be stored at gun clubs or target ranges.
  • Requires live shooting as part of the curriculum for a basic firearms safety course; this is not a current requirement.
  • Requires all applicants for gun licenses and FID cards to sign a waiver of mental health records for review to be destroyed after decision.
  • Imposes 25% sales tax on ammunition, firearms, shotguns, and rifles; dedicates funds towards firearms licensing, police training, mental health services, and victim’s services.
  • Brings Massachusetts into compliance with the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
  • Limits gun buyers to one firearm purchase per month.

That way if someone breaks in your house, all you have to do is run down to the local gun storage facility to get your guns.  It makes perfect sense.
~~~~~NNNNN~~~~~
My BS alarm started going off in 1991, and hasn’t stopped since – unfortunately, it has been getting louder by the day since our present buffoon entered office.
Yeah; storing your guns at an “approved gun club or target range”, in their government-approved gun safes.  Everything inventoried weekly.  Can’t remove the guns from the Club/Range’s property.  Sheer genius, except for the fact that it’s not a new or novel idea – Check out how they took away firearms in England and Germany – the exact same “in an approved facility” tricks were used there, and unfortunately they fell for it.  Sure is easy to seize all the guns in town, when they are all inventoried and held at a few convenient locations which the govie controls access to.
New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts are test cases folks – to see if they can get away with it, and how much of a furor will be raised by gun owners.  Anything less than absolute resistance and retaliation in those states will result in these “model programs” coming very quickly to Washington as federal legislation.  Think Romney-care to Obamacare, only at lightening speed.
If we don’t fight to preserve our 2nd amendment rights, we will definitely become a tyrannical state.
History shows time and time again when the people gave up their ability to defend themselves
It was over
Linski looks like some grinning jackel. These trial baloons that whese idiots throw out are just for the feel good liberals. This is not going to bring in the gang bangers, felons, cartels and any other treif that breaks into a house and steals a gun. This is definately ment to remove guns from the “law abiding” public.
Or should we just say, “oh your right, I’ll be right down with everything you assholes classify as an assault weapon”. Then the list would get bigger. Didn’t they say a few months ago they wantedd the .22’s because someone could shoot out a power transformer? Hey stupids, my chainsaw cuts them down and does more damage than a .22, do you want them too?
Something is up and on the way. Watch for a false flag comming to a city near you soon.
Serious question, when people on here say “I’ll resist!” What does that look like? Barricade? Protesting? Or quietly hide your guns? My husband and I are discussing what options we have, how realistic is it to depend on friends and neighbors to follow through on big talk. I teach a basic rifle course with a friend who teaches basic pistol. We are both NRA members and vote. We are considering slowly going private lessons only and students must bring their own guns….
What it looks like to me is that in order for the government to “take” our guns they have to make the first move. There is alot of states resistance regarding their citiczens rights. There are some politicians that will cover their butt by currently “doing the right thing”, voting the polls. I believe that if the word gets out that this is a scam there is a hope that much of the debate will disappear. My brother holds a CC class in a very liberal state and has no intention to change. He will continue to teach the class and do what ever he does personelly.
Untill the day comes when there is an established “something” we can only speculate. I am not turning anything “in” I am not registering anything. I am not doing anything wrong. I am a leagel US citiczen abiding by all of the current laws that I know of. Don’t start to run scared speculating on rumors.
I wouldn’t want to be in the first team of DHS guys to start banging on doors to “take” guns. I don’t think it will happen like that. Remember it took 40 years for them to get the guns in Austrailia. They have time to wait untill the current generations to grow up (LOL). They will demonize guns and the owners. The current generation(s) according to serveys consider friends more important than family. The number of hunters are in decline. The schools are teaching that the men that partisipated in the Boston Tea Party were terrorists. Does anyone think this place called America is going to “come back”? It’s over. It’s all over as we know it. I’m in my 60’s I have some years left and then I’m gone. How many behind me really feel any patriotism? How many care about anything other than games, good times, texting, social media, and the list goes on. How many live at home still? How’s the drug culture and gangs doing. Do you believe the jobs numbers?
All this talk of revolution is swell but there are many questions still to ask. How will it start? What will be it’s accomplishment? Who will pull the trigger first? Will “we” be fighting our own countrymen? Will the fall of the dollar trigger the “fight”? The list goes on in all directions. Be more concerned about domestic problems and the fall of the dollar than your hiding of your weapons, you’ll need them to fight off looters.
Be secure in you home with God as its head, the truth in its soul and a secure feeling about who you are and that your path is based on what you believe to be really true. (and prepare for the worse of times).
This is by far the most crazy idea I have ever heard in my lifetime. this man must be a completely dumb. I know he does not give a damn about protecting his family. Mr. Linsky have you ever read any type of history books? I mean I know you probably went to college but where????
David P. Linsky you should honestly be removed from office . No one should ever vote for you again. How did you ever get the job?You must have been the only one applying for the job. We need men who when they swear an oath to protect they are held to it.
