Overstaffing is how corrupted, marxist organizations make up for their lazy, untalented, inexperienced and unmotivated work forces. Then, where required, these companies overcharge their customers and dress the whole thing up with virtue signaling propaganda (think “whole paycheck” and all the “do-goodery” propaganda you get there for your money). It turns out that a degree in gender studies with a minor in African cultural icons does not make one an able stocker or checker. I worked for two such organizations as a meat manager long before it became clear that those folks weren’t just stupid and crazy, but that they are actually a danger to civilization and individual liberty. I’m not sure who twitter was overcharging except maybe those that paid for advertising on the platform, but it is obvious that the health of the company’s P&L was never a matter of concern before good ol’ Elon took over.

Then as conventional retailers became aware that exorbitant profit margins were not entirely off-putting to customers, everyone got on the “raise retail prices” bandwagon. I was shocked to watch it happen.
