Two Stock Market Points for Your Consideration

The stock market just finished a bad week. The Dow Jones closed down another 143 points today (April 11, 2014) with a loss of 2.35% for the week on higher than average volume. There are two interesting facts concerning the time frame surrounding the market’s (DJIA) closing bell. The volume increase in the last 10 minutes accounted for 33% of the total trading today. This is higher than normal but the interesting trend is that the market sold off and increased its losses for the day. After the closing bell, the second interesting fact is that institutional trades continued this selloff and the market value of the DJIA is under 16,000: it is 15,964 at 4:15 PM.

It appears that the powers that be, are dumping their holdings and the individual investor will be left holding the bull by the horns. At least the bull is on its last legs.
