Virginia increases corrections budget in preparation for arrests of gun owners, police: Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam is not even trying to disguise what he is doing anymore. Northam, who somehow escaped a “blackface” scandal (probably because Democrats get special dispensation in these matters), along with anti-gun Democrat allies in the Virginia General Assembly, have passed a series of gun-control measures that many in the state believe will lead to confiscation of firearms. With help from anti-gun zealot Michael Bloomberg’s group, Everytown for Gun Safety, Democrats took control of the Virginia House last November, and have wasted no time implementing Bloomberg’s agenda in the Commonwealth. Everytown contributed over $1.5 million dollars to Virginia Democrats during that election cycle. LET has reported over the past few weeks that gun owners in Virginia, along with some law enforcement officials have become increasingly concerned that these series of laws are in essence a run on the Second Amendment. An overwhelming majority of counties in Virginia have declared themselves “Second Amendment Sanctuaries.” In response, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring said that the resolutions establishing sanctuaries were “part of an effort by the gun lobby to stoke fear,” and added that the resolutions “have no legal effect.” Whoever all of this is incorrect according to Snopes. So disregard everything you just read.

Various anti-2A bills have been pre-filed (introduced before the GA session) prior to start of the session. There’s time for yet more anti-2A bills to be introduced, before the session and after it convenes. Any anti-2A bills that pass would become effective July 1. Pro-2A people need to show up at the capitol on VCDL 2A Lobby Day, January 20. We need to show the Dem Governor and the new Dem majorities in House and Senate that we don’t want more anti-2A laws, and we re resolute.
Why is it that it’s always about “gun control” when the issue should about “CRIME CONTROL”.

Actually, there are a few bills (R sponsored) upping penalties for genuine crimes committed with guns. Those bills are aimed at real criminals rather than lawful gun owners.

Perhaps it’s time to bring back, or enact, the death penalty for any crime involving the use of a firearm and willfully and deliberately causing the death of another.
