We live in the darkest of times. Our Republic has been overthrown and replaced by a Democracy run by traitors. While the government rapes and pillages across the world with the aid of an hereto unforeseen propaganda machine, blackmail and war, there seems little hope of restoring Liberty to the now failed Great Experiment.
For those who remember when our culture included songs to inspire freedom and love of God and country, I believe the trumpet is sounding:
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on
Every time you hear a traitorous politician talk about the assault on our Democracy, tell them the assault’s inspiration is the Battle Hymn of the Republic. We will not follow an illegal democracy into the depths of Hell.
Consider the complete context of this message from the Lord:
The Lord Appears to Solomon (2 Chronicles 7)
11 When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, 12 the Lord appeared to him at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.
13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
17 “As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws, 18 I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to rule over Israel.’
19 “But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. 21 This temple will become a heap of rubble. All who pass by will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ 22 People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.’”
I have italicized the choices from the Bible from which our people have to choose. And He is not giving us any other options, compromises or appeasements. The choices come down to:
- The restoration of a Republic under God, with Liberty and justice for all.
- The acceptance of an illegal Democracy founded by evil men and women who have forsaken the Lord.
Do you see the Lord destroying His temple in this country?
I have added the lyrics to our battle hymn below. Remember that it is a hymn: a religious song or poem of praise to God. Also remember as our forefathers, we must have a firm reliance on Divine Providence for His victory.
In closing, I want you to ask yourself when was the last time that you heard this hymn and how does it make you feel when you hear it today?
David DeGerolamo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Battle Hymn of the Republic
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on
Glory, Glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His day is marching on
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel
“As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal”
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Since God is marching on
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free
While God is marching on
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
While God is marching on
Reading every stanza, I got the chills. Truth.
As a Christian firstly, and a native Southerner secondly, I have always found The Battle Hymn of the Republic repugnant and repulsive to me. And if you care to know why, please go here:
AMEN !!!!!
Sir, with all due respect, I believe the following are our true two choices:
The restoration of our original republic under God, with Liberty and justice for all.Our continuing acceptance of an illegal, Globalist-controlled empire put in place by evil men and women who have ALWAYS been in rebellion against our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are saying the same thing as I see it. Good vs. Evil.
The “Battle Hymn” is a disgusting attack upon the South in song. Anyone who embraces that Crap IS a traitor of American values…Southerners rejected overpowering taxation and sought to extract themselves from TYRANNY. The answer song is the March of Cambreath
The song is a part of our history.
Whether you hate it or not.
The beauty of the First Amendment!
Glory glory to God!
Southerners did not stop the takedown of their great statues a few years back -- now did they? They allowed them to be defaced just like they are allowing the great takedown of our nation to continue. Sad.
No, we Southerners did not stop it. That is because most of us have been propagandized, brainwashed, shamed and bludgeoned into submission by an evil, wicked, and ruthless alliance of satanically-inspired ultra leftists and Globalists. Together, they are hell-bent on destroying everything that is good and decent concerning America; her shared ideals of liberty and freedom, her shared history, her shared culture, her shared traditions and her shared Christian religion, etc.,.
And it is not just Southerners who have stood by and allowed our shared heritage to be destroyed. Every American in every region has been guilty of that.
The ultra leftist/Globalist alliance’s motto is this: “DIVIDE THEM AND CONQUER THEM.” We must not and cannot allow them to divide and then destroy us.
We must lock arms and fight them with all of our physical, mental and spiritual strength. But while we are doing so, we must not be like them and put evil for good, and good for evil. As a Southerner, I freely admit that the institution of slavery was an evil thing. I would never try defend it. On the other hand, I recognize that The lyrics of The Battle Hymn of the Republic was a form of vile war-time propaganda at the least, and pure blasphemy at worst.
We should all strive to judge things in the light of truth which is God’s word . We must never defend the undefendable, or justify the unjustifiable -- even when it pains us to admit our errors and do so.
Thanks for your reply. You are correct. All of us have sat on our behinds chewing our cud talking about the takeover of our government but have done nothing about it. We are still chewing our cud. It’s later than we think. The Battle Hymn is for all of us. When will we start marching connecting county by county across our state? They are going to take our property. It’s called subjugation of humanity. This is global subjugation by the cabal that dangles the globe.
I thank you for your kind and magnanimous remarks.
Yes, we Americans, from sea to shining sea, now find ourselves engaged in a great battle for our very survival as a nation. The final battle lines are forming in front of our very eyes. We must unite; We must come together and fight our common enemies, for our very existence is now at stake.
As an American patriot and, as a Southerner (a proud and distinct group of the American people, and rightfully so), I humbly offer the following to ALL Americans in every region of our beloved land: If you love God, the God of The Holy Bible, with all your heart, mind, strength and soul; and if you love your neighbors as you love yourselves; and if you love freedom and liberty more than you love the chains of slavery, I will rush to join with you and fight to my death to preserve our nation and the republican form of government that was bequeathed to us by the founders of our nation. If you desire to march into battle singing The Battle Hymn of the Republic, that will be fine with me. I only ask that you respect my right to be singing Dixie, at the top of my lungs, while I’m marching along with you.
May God’s blessings be upon all of His people, throughout His world.
I agree.
For your information:
The composer of Dixie was a northern minstrel singer, Daniel D. Emmett (1854-1904), a native of Ohio and son of an abolitionist. “Dixie” was written and first performed in New York City in April 1859, as part of a minstrel show.
Mr. Emmett was not well liked in the North for writing this song of the South. If we unite under God to destroy evil and restore the Republic, I know that we will have an edified foundation.
Yes, I did know that. And there many, many fine people who immigrated from the North before the war and fought on the side of South! What an amazing and rich history we all share.
God bless you, sir.
I suggest you watch the opening by Johnny Cash before he starts singing. I also suggest you use some restraint before calling someone a traitor in the South.
It brought tears to my eyes. Here is another rendition of this great song:
“We will not follow an illegal democracy into the depths of Hell.”
I will not follow an illegal democracy into the depths of Hell.
His truth is marching on!
Thank you for sharing this stirring song. I have not heard it in a long time.
I doubt that very few of the younger generation know any such songs.
I can truly understand how many of my brothers and sisters in the south might feel about this song. There are old wounds from the war of northern aggression that have never been healed and maybe never will. However, what is at stake here is very simple. We need to come together as a people, one nation under God to fight this horrific monster that has taken over our country and our government. If we lose this battle The America that we once knew will be lost forever and our history will be rewritten by communists and globalists. Our children and grandchildren and their posterity will live as slaves. That is what is at stake here. We must all come together to fight this evil beast that is sucking our lifeblood from all of us. They are destroying our history and our culture. Look at how many of our historical and national monuments have been destroyed by these evil beasts. Southern monuments, our American history is being destroyed before our very eyes. Military bases being renamed because some WOKE jackasses deemed them to be racist. Ft. Bragg comes to mind. These bases were named after Southern Generals. They were Americans too.They will not stop by destroying southern monuments or destroying southern American history. No they want it all. They want to destroy our constitution and ultimately take down the American flag. They want it all.
The Battle Hymn Of The Republic brings tears to my eyes because of what is at stake here. Many of us will die in the coming war in the very near future. I’m a 74 year old Nam vet with nothing to lose. I often wonder why God saw fit to allow me to come home from Vietnam when 58,000 of my brothers never made it home. The only conclusion I can come up with is that he needs me here for the upcoming battle that we all know is coming soon. Can you hear the distant thunder?
Winston Churchill made a very prophetic speech during the darkest hours of WWII. What he said back then directly applies to our current situation.
“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may be even a worse fate, you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
I think we are very close to that last option.
Here is the version of the Battle Hymn Of The Republic that I like.
Many tears. When I die, the Constitution and Bible will be in my hand. Thank you for your service, soldier. The video you posted is my America; not the elitist top down woke bureaucratic government we are currently living under. Without a middle class there will only be the rich and the poor. I hope we can get the statues back up in the South. I am praying on that.
Have often been tormented at the way many use and think about this song.
Despite pressures of the time to provide for her husband and home in very traditional ways, Julia Ward Howe was quite socially active in circles that included other authors such as Charles Margaret Fuller, Charles Sumner, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Charles Dickens. A lyrical poet and prolific author in her own right, Howe is best remembered for her new words to the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” She was active in prison reform, the fight to end slavery, and the fight to win equal rights for women.
Are you compelled Physically or Spiritually?
The Author: The Poet: Julia Ward Howe (1819-1910)
Julia Ward Howe’s efforts for social justice continued after the war. In 1870, she campaigned for a Mother’s Day for Peace, a precursor of Mother’s Day. She also pushed for women’s suffrage—the right for women to vote.
What do you think of the song now?
Think of the ways they have used it. Remember Obamas “coronation?” I’ll remember this always in disgust.
How’s that women’s right to vote working out? Can we now connect it to the aid in destruction of the family? How does it fit Biblically with the family structure?
Every citizen has the right to vote. The destruction of the family can be blamed on the government’s goal to get more taxation. Who suffered? The family. During the feminist movement ( when it started) I fell into a deep depression because I valued being a homemaker. I still do, and I am 74 years old. The ruination of the nation’s families was the feminist movement. It was a social construct ( one of many) to destroy this nation. Here we are today…
A man and a woman voting against each other cancels the head of the family’s vote.
Man and woman each have their importance and family structure is given to us by His Word.
i believe there has been much that has destroyed His ways and His instructions.
And yes, so much has been done and said to destroy the importance of the homemaker. They are key to family and a healthy home and family.
