North Carolina’s politicians have no need for accountability once the election cycle is over. Neither political party wants to touch the issue of adding a recall amendment to the North Carolina Constitution. We have seen politicians convicted of a felony and stay in office in the past few years. Senator Hagan’s sellout to the administration was immediate and unrepentent. When I asked a current Republican House member about a constitutional recall amendment 18 months ago, his response was that we already have one: it is called elections.
Governor Perdue is the latest example why we need a recall mechanism to hold politicians accountable for their actions. Our governor represents the interests of president Obama, not North Carolina.
Bev was first in line to accept stimulus money for North Carolina regardless of the consequences that we now have to pay: $2.6 billion in federal loans for unemployment benefits as a condition of being bought. The reward for staunchly supporting the president: only Florida received less stimulus money per person than North Carolina. The governor’s announcement two weeks ago concerning no action on her part concerning health care repeal legislation in our state was quickly changed after a meeting in Washington with her “commander in chief”. North Carolina does not need a Washington puppet: we need a strong advocate for our state in hard economic times.

We need recall, referendum and initiative. It seems the elected still do not get it. We don’t have time to wait 22 months to turn the ship.
I have offered all kinds of great budget cuts and have not seen a one come up.
Yes unfornuately the Repubs are not going to be our answer.
