Will our children live under the rule of law or the law of rulers? Or will they live in a world without the rule of law (WROL)? The answer will be determined by our actions. If our actions are based on founding principles, morality and virtue, our representative Republic may be reborn. This will require Sacred honor and great sacrifice.
Most people do not understand the importance of the rule of law and its rule in securing Liberty. When was the last time you heard a conversation where the rule of law versus the rule of man was the main topic? Do we have the rule of law or the rule of man in our country? The answer is that we have become a nation under the rule of man where a two tiered justice system has replaced the rule of law.
Madison’s point in Federalist Paper 51 addresses the need to guard against the oppression of its rulers and the rights of the minority:
It is of great importance in a republic not only to guard the society against the oppression of its rulers, but to guard one part of the society against the injustice of the other part. Different interests necessarily exist in different classes of citizens. If a majority be united by a common interest, the rights of the minority will be insecure.
It is interesting that Madison made one statement to include the oppression of rulers and the rights of the minority. Once vain and aspiring men took control of the highest offices of our land, the separation of powers in Washington became moot. As did the rights of the minority: people working in the private sector supporting a bloated government and a non-working, entitlement class.
The actions of the people will dictate our future. These actions will be discussed further in the next two months leading up to the PATCON Muster on May 5, 2013.
