“You may be thinking that what happened in places like Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Mao’s China, Pol Pot’s Cambodia and scores of other countries in recent history could not, for some reason, happen in the US. Actually, there’s no reason it won’t at this point. All the institutions that made America exceptional – including a belief in capitalism, individualism, self-reliance and the restraints of the Constitution – are now only historical artifacts.”
WOW, this is not a political website – ZeroHedge is as close to purely about economics and markets as you are likely to find… so does that mean that the spectre of American Totalitarianism has gone mainstream?

ZeroHedge purely economics and markets? About 90% of the time.

OK, ok -- so you point out WilliamBanzai7, who is the one consistent exception to the general rule that they stick to financial dialogue, but I never said they were perfect, or even right, what I did say was, “ZeroHedge is as close to purely about economics and markets as you are likely to find”. I feel like I can stick by that statement, however, even considering the somewhat obscene comic relief offered from time to time by the above-mentioned contributor ;P

I agree completely. I follow (and recommend) Zerohedge.com closely. I think 90% of the time is doing extremely well and a few months back, I would have even said 95%. The bottom line is that they are the main site that I read to get information about the economy and markets.
