17 killed, 82 wounded in shootings during extended Fourth of July weekend in Chicago

Seventeen people have been killed and at least 82 wounded during shootings in Chicago over the extended Fourth of July weekend.

Halfway into the long July 4th weekend, the tally of shootings surpassed the numbers for last year’s entire holiday weekend. Last year, 11 people were killed and 62 wounded over the holiday weekend, which stretched over four days, July 1-4.

This year’s holiday violence includes four mass shootings. In all, 24 people were shot, four fatally, in the mass attacks.

Mayor Brandon Johnson said in a statement the Chicago Police Department would deploy officers whose days off for the holiday weekend were previously canceled, aiming “to maximize presence and ensure prompt incident response.”

They do not call it Chicongo for nothing. They are a violent, physical people. When they cannot murder Whites or Asians, they murder each other. I saw it as a MP in the Army and as a Peace Officer in SoCal. I cannot even imagine what it will be like when their freebies dry up during the pending “economic reset”.
I am grateful I live in North Idaho. We are white, polite, and well-armed. For those of you poor souls who are still trapped in the Blue Hives due to employment or a recalcitrant spouse who cannot leave the grandchildren, you need to have an iron-clad plan in place. Bleib ubrig.

And we still have more than 12 hours to go! Yippee! Go to HeyJackass website for the final tally tomorrow. I live just west of Chicago. We have a local mall here. 2 female urban youths shot each other in there last week. In the afternoon. Why wait until dark?

Maybe if we provided better ammo ie. hollow points or radically expansive ammo they wounded/kill ratio would be better.

The officers called back from R&R shouldn’t have been called back. After all, defund the police and Saint George doncha know? Folks up there need to step up the pace. Make less work for us when the time comes

Same song, but a different verse for Birmingham. The “Magic City has been trying to outdo all the liberal sanctuaries that foster these types of behaviors, but the grand total eludes them. I think percentage wise per 100k residents, Birmingham does occupy the top slot. Thursday I read Birmingham city experienced five homicides in five days, but I think there has been another 4 since then.

I was on a project in Gary, IN 2017-19. Landed in Midway about noon on Mondays, drove to Gary. Listened to the local news / talk station, they announced numbers of shootings & deaths like sports scores. People there are numb to it all. Chicago culture (all races) rationalize everything.
OTOH, people I met at the hotel all told me when they retire, they’re leaving headed south or southwest. No one wanted to live there in retirement.

HeyJackass has the final tally for the extended holiday weekend at 19 dead and 88 wounded. Keep in mind that most of the shooters are probably using 9mm FMJ ammo. And the EMTs and trauma rooms are pretty experienced, otherwise the number of dead would be much higher.
