A Word from NC State Representative Larry Pittman

Too bad this can’t happen in North Carolina, not only because of a Governor who would resist it, but because, even when we had a veto-proof majority, Republican leadership in the Legislature would not allow any legislation that would aggressively prohibit abortion to be heard. I know because I tried and was told if I insisted on running my bill to outlaw abortion, not only would that bill not be heard, but I could forget any other bill I introduced getting a hearing. They want to say that the incremental approach has saved a lot of babies. Maybe so, but we should be saving them all, or at least drastically reducing the numbers by treating abortion as the first degree murder it is, bearing the same penalty. Larry Pittman
