Vista Outdoor, the parent company to several ammunition makers such as Federal, CCI, and Remington, has warned prices for ammunition are expected to rise in 2024 due to a worldwide shortage of gunpowder.
In a letter sent to customers, Vista Outdoor warned that they would begin to increase prices on all of their ammunition products due to “an anticipated global shortage of gunpowder.”
Vice President of Sales Brett Nelson stated, “Due to world events, our suppliers have notified us of unprecedented demand for and an anticipated global shortage of gunpowder, and thus has increased our prices substantially.”
Nelson did not refer to what world events are causing the gunpowder shortage, but it’s quite clear the War in Ukraine and Gaza has resulted in an increased need for ammo.
Keep practicing, idiots! Waste your ammo…
If you can’t hit your target after the first box of ammo, you should consider collecting rocks for your “David’s slingshot”…
Dumbasses!
Do you consider this a constructive comment?
New shooters such as my grandkids really need more than one box of ammo to be proficient. I need regular practice dry and live to stay proficient, wouldn’t consider any of us to be dumb. I am part of a church safety team in a fairly large church where missing your target would be disastrous. Not meaning to be confrontational just showing a different point of view, thanks
A lot of good training to include muzzle flagging can be done with quality air weapons.
Pellets are cheap. Also, good training when it’s time for meat hunting small game. Even with a repeating air rifle critters only give you one good shot.
I’ve taught more than a few even in the Army how to shoot pistols and rifles well. Great for those who are gun shy. Soon enough the spirit of competition gets them up to 22’s and better.
First it was primers and now it’s gun powder. If anyone on this forum has not stocked up by now them you’ve been asleep at the wheel and have no business on this forum. Just say’n!
Should already have at a minimum 5,000 rounds for your battle rifle, I have been reloading my own ammo for decades+. With shortages and price increases it is not anywhere near as cheap, as opposed to buying loaded ammo. They are closing all avenues of defense, get ready to rumble.
Glad I stocked up while it was cheap.
I’m sure this is all planned. No ammo, no way to defend yourself against the evil that comes. Communism’s first tactic.
An “alleged” shortage of powder.
