Announcement

I’m going to be away from Liberty’s Torch for a while…possibly a very long while. Recent events have persuaded me that for the present, there’s no point to my writing for the Web. A man of my age shouldn’t spend his time and energy shouting into the wind. So I’m going to take a break and look for one.

Perhaps Linda, Dave, the Colonel, and the rest will keep our Gentle Readers amused. Readers with questions about site activities and policies should address them to Linda, my Co-Administrator. Meanwhile, enjoy the continuing decline and fall of the United States of America. It’s best viewed from a safe distance. I’m currently considering Tristan da Cunha.

     Regards,
     Fran

Maybe some peace and quiet is what everyone needs.

Wise choice, Fran. We are all shouting into the wind. The time for shouting is over. Bleib ubrig, one and all.

Not much is lost when one decides to back off from preaching to the choir. However, much is lost if lose our desire to reach out to those who have not yet been given a chance to wake up.

Pretty remote. Might cost $50 for a tube of toothpaste. Get your teeth pulled before you go.

Well have some fun on that island--away from where you are needed. Question: did George Washington flee the country when trouble was imminent back in the 1770’s?

Children call people cowards over keyboards, because they don’t have the balls to do it in person. Ironically it’s people like this that probably drove Fran to take a break! What’s the point of shouting at trolls?
I’ve reached the same conclusion, I’m no longer wasting my time in the comments or on blab. You’re either preaching to the choir, like the readership is here, which is pointless (errr, does nothing to move the needle)… or you’re beating your head against the wall with a person who made an emotional decision to support a particular issue. No amount of logic or persuasion will persuade a person who’s made an emotional stand. It’s a waste of time and effort to even try, so don’t. All of these issues we’re facing today have reached the point of being emotionally driven. Nothing is logical anymore, it’s all ideological. You have to be able to see that, people aren’t being genuine or rational, they’re being emotional and reactionary. Liked a caged animal… on both sides!
No, folks need to grok: the lines are drawn, the sides are set. Pick one, and get to work, for there’s lots to do. You don’t get to choose the fence. War is upon us, whether you wish it to be or not. And it’s not going to just go away… as its obvious many are hoping.
You can choose to be an active participant, or an unintended consequence, but you will be involved. Your rights, liberty, and freedom will not be around this time next year. Grok that…
