Tracy Stone-Manning’s nomination to the Bureau of Land Management tells Americans the White House will reward left-wing extremism and violence.
From early on, the Biden administration has urged the need to combat “domestic terrorism” and touted a high standard of “ethics.” Joe Biden shot gaping holes in the sincerity and credibility of both goals when he nominated an ethically compromised eco-terrorist, Tracy Stone-Manning, to lead the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), which controls nearly 250 million acres of resource-rich federal lands.
The confirmation process has brought to light Stone-Manning’s domestic terrorist past. Some argue it makes her unfit to command the approximately 12 percent of the American landmass BLM controls, access to which is key to countless Western jobs and the region’s economic and cultural vitality.
A History of Domestic Terrorist Exploits
During her years as a graduate student at the University of Montana, Stone-Manning was involved with the eco-terrorist group “Earth First!,” which in 2002 was labeled a “radical group” by the FBI. The group gave rise to the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), an organization the FBI described as a “serious terrorist threat” in the early 2000s.
Earth First! has extensive connections to ecological terrorist movements across the globe. It recently endorsed an attack on logging equipment in Chile, labeling the destruction of “no less than 26 machines” as a “beautiful coordinated attack,” according to the Earth First! Journal. The group also expressed unqualified support for terrorists — dismissed by some in the media as “vandals” — who recently set fire to part of a Tesla factory in Germany.
Closer to home, ELF was responsible for the 1998 arson attacks on ski buildings and equipment in Vail, Colorado. In May 2001, ELF firebombed the office of Toby Bradshaw, a biologist at the University of Washington, to protest his work genetically modifying trees.
More recently, in December 2020, “Earth First!” was scrawled across a natural gas pipeline in Aspen, Colorado, where an “intentional disruption” of gas service left hundreds of households without heat or hot water in the midst of a brutal winter cold snap. That crime remains unsolved, despite the Biden administration’s selective campaign to hunt down and prosecute domestic extremists.
Back in 1989, Stone-Manning directly supported the terrorist group’s tree-spiking activities. Tree spiking involves driving spikes or nails into the trunks of trees before they are cut down. The spikes can splinter upon impact with a logger’s chainsaw or a sawmill blade, sending out shards of flying metal. The aim is to maim or kill lumber industry workers, or damage equipment.
Makes perfect sense. After all, his entire cabinet is filled with criminals. Has he nominated any murderers yet? What’s taking him so long…?
Maybe Bill Ayers will be the next Secy of State…
I’m just guessing here, but from the history of the recent past, as in the last 6 months, this is going to turn BLM land & it’s resources into a giveaway program for foreign entities. As in chinklandistan and uranium mining as well as other minerals sought after by oh let’s see, Russia, any of the Stans, Iran, just to name a few.
I ain’t very smart and even I can figure this out.
There are at least two currently proposed mining operations in Arizona for which the the public comment period is still open. One is a uranium mining operation in Cochise County. The other is a lithium operation in Mohave County.
Guess which country heads the exploratory and proposed mining operations? If you said, ‘not U.S.’ you are correct.
If you remember the land grab of nearly 2 million acres of private lands during the last days of the Klinton admin, what was then named the Grand Staircase-Escalante Nat’l Recreation Area has been expanded in area over the years and experienced a name change.
There were some very curious details arising from that. It was a ‘recreation area’ -- the first in the nation. From the start, it was placed under the authority of the BLM, not the USFS or US Parks. It was very odd in itself that it should be BLM-administered. Speculation on this included the thought that Klinton was repaying someone. The land grab is centered on prime uranium deposits. Of course the public comment was ignored, ignored to unprecedented levels.
There was a 1/2 mile wide ‘buffer zone’ at the perimeter of the area, which while not within the recreation area boundaries was nonetheless under the authority of the BLM. The ‘recreation area’ was renamed as a ‘monument’ yet remains under the BLM domain. Mining operations are allowed within the monument. However, many (if not all) of the private mining operations were shuttered during the original land grab. I invite you to take a deep dive into who controls those operations.
Of course, we remember the ‘Bundy ranch standoff’ at Bunkerville, NV. That was completely about illegal land grab and foreign entities, notably the CCP.
I am in the Western U.S. so am not familiar with other parts of the nation. I imagine the same sort of thing where fedgov wrecks private livelihood goes on elsewhere. While the SW is rich in minerals, other places in the country also feature valuable natural resources.
Addendum:
The Grand Staircase-Escalante was expanded to ~2.6 million acres as new discoveries in uranium were made. To this day, mention of the BLM is fighting words in those parts. Too, a sizable portion of the ‘national monument’ lies on indian reservation lands.
My guess is Texas Senator and stealth RINO John Cornyn will vote for her confirmation to head the BLM.
